📅 National Titanic Remembrance Day | April 15💙
Today we pause to remember.
On April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic, once believed to be unsinkable, slipped beneath the icy waters of the North Atlantic, taking more than 1,500 lives with it. The ship struck an iceberg late on the night of April 14th during its maiden voyage from England to New York and sank in the early hours of April 15th.
This tragedy forever changed maritime history. An insufficient number of lifeboats, communication challenges, and the unforgiving cold all contributed to one of the most heartbreaking disasters of the 20th century.
Behind the headlines and history books were real people; families, immigrants chasing dreams, crew members doing their duty, and loved ones whose stories ended far too soon. Their memory reminds us of both the fragility of life and the enduring power of hope, courage, and human connection in the darkest hours.
