Did you know?

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

So this is for the person who is exhausted from fighting a battle nobody else can see.

The person who says “I’m tired” because explaining how bad things really are feels impossible. The person who answers “I’m fine” because they don’t want anyone to worry. The person who has convinced themselves that everyone would be better off without the weight of their problems.

Stay through tonight. Stay through the thoughts telling you that nothing will change. Stay even if right now you have no idea what you’re staying for.

You do not need to have your life figured out. You do not need to pretend you’re okay. You do not need to earn your place here by being easy to love or easy to help.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, but people need us to notice, listen and care every month of the year.

Yesterday before the fire we also had our Monday night fire department meeting and we did some training between the fire fighters and our Ambulance. The training was a big success and it only helps to make us better to serve our community.

Last night we responded to straw bales on fire at Save A Lot we had our engine and tanker on scene we were there for several hours on scene keeping the fire away from the propane tank that was located near by. Thank you to the city of Georgetown for bringing in a back hoe to help us keep the fire under control and helping to get it put out.

Looks like summers not over with us just yet. Stay hydrated and check on your elderly neighbors and pets and stay safe during this heat wave coming the next few days.

Who all watched the lunar eclipse last night? Our crews watched from the station and it was pretty cool to see. Did anyone get pictures by chance of it?

We’d like to thank Tilton Fire Department for the training that we did at there station last night some of our crews went for driving a UTV and to be able to operate it safely. We attended with some surrounding departments as well. We all do this training to be certified to use the MABAS UTV in the event of a natural disaster or deployment of our crews to other states and need to use the UTV for deployment. We all got very soaked from the rain but the dedication it showed last night really stood out for all departments. And the pictures show that we can joke around when we get a chance.

We received our new Class B dress shirts today that has our new patches on the sleeves. We kept the original colors as a tribute to the old patches we had, but the new ones are signifying all the changes that have occurred within our fire protection district. We’d like to thank Lt Logan Dawson for all his hard work in getting this accomplished for all of us to be proud to wear them. Also our chief Rusty Berry and all the officers for working to make our department better.
