Overheating, Heat Exhaustion, and Heat Stroke.

Summerâs here, and while itâs great to enjoy the sunshine, itâs crucial to stay aware of the risks associated with overheating. Whether youâre exercising, working, or just enjoying the outdoors, heat-related illnesses can sneak up on you.

Understanding the signs and knowing what to do can make all the difference:

đș Signs of Overheating:
- Excessive sweating
- Thirst
- Fatigue
- Muscle cramps

đș Signs of Heat Exhaustion:
- Heavy sweating
- Weakness or confusion
- Dizziness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Pale, clammy skin
- Rapid heartbeat

đș Signs of Heat Stroke (Emergency):
- High body temperature (104°F or higher)
- Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
- Rapid, strong pulse
- Confusion or loss of consciousness
- Seizures

đĄïž What to Do:
- Overheating: Move to a cooler area, hydrate with water or sports drinks, and take a break.
- Heat Exhaustion: Rest in a cool place, drink plenty of water or sports drinks, and apply cool compresses. If symptoms worsen or last more than an hour, seek medical help.
- Heat Stroke: Call 911 immediately. Move the person to a cooler place, and use cool cloths or a bath to lower their temperature. Do not give them fluids.
