The Gerald Area Ambulance District is accepting sealed bids for the sale of a 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty Chassis Cab.

VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS

• 6.7L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V8
• Automatic Transmission
• Dual Rear Wheels
• Ford Ambulance Prep Package
• LiquidSpring Hydraulic Suspension System (Premium Commercial Ride and Load Management System)
• 16,500 lb GVWR
• Odometer Reads 211,151 Miles
• Former Ambulance Chassis – Ambulance Module Removed

The vehicle is equipped with a LiquidSpring Hydraulic Suspension System, a premium commercial suspension upgrade designed to improve ride quality, vehicle stability, handling, and load management. This system is commonly utilized on emergency vehicles, commercial fleets, recreational vehicles, and specialty trucks.

This vehicle was maintained in accordance with a scheduled fleet maintenance program while in service with the Gerald Area Ambulance District.

This vehicle was removed from frontline ambulance service solely as part of a fleet modernization and replacement program.

✅ Vehicle starts, runs, and drives.

✅ Clear Missouri title will be provided to the successful bidder upon receipt of full payment.

✅ VIN available upon request.

⚠️ All emergency warning equipment, communications equipment, and ambulance-related equipment have been removed.

Sealed bids must be received no later than 4:00 PM on August 24 , 2026.

Bids will be opened during the Gerald Area Ambulance District Board of Directors Meeting on August 24, 2026, beginning at 7:00 PM.

The Gerald Area Ambulance District Board of Directors reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities in any bid received.

📞 WINNING BIDDER NOTIFICATION

The successful bidder will be contacted by Chief Milanowski on August 25, 2026, during normal business hours.

💰 PAYMENT TERMS

Payment is due in full at the time the chassis is picked up. Payment must be made by cash, or cashier's check,. No electronic payment applications, personal checks, or payment plans will be accepted.

🚚 VEHICLE REMOVAL

The purchaser is responsible for vehicle pickup and transportation. The vehicle must be removed from Gerald Area Ambulance District property within fifteen (15) days of notification of award unless other arrangements have been approved by the District.

The vehicle is available for viewing Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or by appointment.

📍 Ever been somewhere and thought, “How would I tell 911 exactly where I am?”

The Gerald Area Ambulance District encourages everyone to download the FREE What3Words app. It can help emergency responders find you faster when every second counts.

What3Words has divided the entire world into 10-foot by 10-foot squares and assigned each square a unique three-word address. Instead of trying to describe your location on a remote gravel road, hiking trail, farm field, river access, or large event venue, you can simply provide the three words displayed in the app.

🚑 How does this help during an emergency?
• Provides a precise location, even in rural areas.
• Helps responders locate you when there is no physical address nearby.
• Reduces confusion and delays caused by difficult-to-describe locations.
• Can be especially useful for hunters, hikers, fishermen, farmers, and anyone who spends time outdoors.

📱 How to use it:

1. Download the What3Words app for free.
2. Allow the app to access your location.
3. In an emergency, open the app and locate the three words displayed on the screen.
4. Tell those three words to 911 or emergency responders.

⚠️ Remember: Always call 911 first during an emergency. What3Words is a tool that can help responders locate you more accurately, but it does not replace calling for help.

We encourage everyone in our community to download the app before they need it. A few minutes spent today could make a big difference during an emergency tomorrow.

Today is a reminder of why we dedicate countless hours to training, continuing education, and maintaining the equipment necessary to serve our community.

Last week, this young man was involved in a serious accident that required a coordinated response from multiple agencies and air medical transport from the Gerald helipad. Thanks to the teamwork, professionalism, and dedication of everyone involved, he is doing well and continuing his recovery.

Today, on his birthday, he stopped by to visit the crews and proudly show off his Spider-Man outfit. Seeing him smiling, laughing, and enjoying his special day is the kind of moment that reminds us why we do what we do.

Incidents like this are never the work of a single person or agency. They require the combined efforts of first responders, law enforcement, fire personnel, air medical crews, hospital staff, and the support of family and community members working together toward a common goal.

From all of us at the Gerald Area Ambulance District, we wish him a very happy birthday and continued healing in the days ahead. Thank you to everyone who played a role in his care and recovery.
