Worth a share…pass along!

September is Su***de Prevention Month. 💜

Every day, someone is fighting a battle that can’t be seen. A smile doesn’t always tell the whole story, and silence doesn’t always mean someone is okay.

This month, let’s make a commitment to check in on one another. Reach out to a friend. Make the phone call. Send the text. Sit and listen without judgment. Sometimes simply knowing someone cares can make all the difference.

At Operation Second Chance and Heroes Ridge, we have the privilege of walking alongside wounded, injured, and ill veterans and their families as they navigate life’s challenges. Healing happens through connection, community, and the reminder that no one has to carry their burdens alone.

If you are struggling today, please know this: You matter. Your life has value. Your story is not over. There is hope, and there are people who care deeply about you.

Together, let’s break the stigma, encourage honest conversations, and remind one another that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available 24 hours a day.

As I shared recently, I will be stepping back from regular Soulshine sessions and events this winter (November until March…so get into an in person this September and October;) to heal, rest and recoup following surgery.

But knowing me…you probably figured I was not going to completely disappear. 😉✨

I have been thinking about how I can stay connected without creating another schedule or obligation. Maybe this winter is simply less about gathering and more about connecting. A few short meditations, reflections, real talk, journal prompts, music, gratitude, perspective shifts, glimpses into my own messy journey, maybe some happy mail, giveaways and unexpected bits of Soulshine love.

Nothing fancy. No perfection. Just connection. Because so many of us are navigating change, loss, loneliness, reinvention, healing, starting over or simply wondering, “What the heck is next?”.

I want Soulshine to remain a place for the beautiful AND messy parts of being human. No judgment. No pretending to have it all figured out. Just little reminders to look inward, shift our perspective, love ourselves a little more and keep growing.

Maybe something like:

🌿 Weekly: Reflection, meditation or encouragement
💭 Monthly: Real talk & perspective
📖 Occasional: Journal prompt
💌 Sporadic: Happy mail & surprises
🎶 Always: Music, love, & connection

No rigid schedule. No pressure. Just little reminders that we are still here, still growing and definitely not doing this life thing alone.

What would YOU love to see from Soulshine this winter? I am listening.

Because while I may be laying low physically, I do not have to disconnect. And let’s face it…I am a mover, shaker and people person, so this is definitely outside my comfort zone. 😂✨. Maybe that is exactly where some of the good stuff happens. 💜

Keep eyes peeled! Beautiful stuff-a-coming!

Hello, beautiful souls!

My name is Laci, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity Beckie Conover has given me to oversee Celebrate Movement and help create more opportunities for community, connection, healing, movement and growth.

My vision is to bring people together through offerings such as yoga, sound meditation, Reiki, self-love & self-improvement practices, wellness gatherings, support groups, workshops, spiritual connection, art and other meaningful experiences that nourish the body, mind and soul.

I’m excited to grow this beautiful space and welcome both familiar and new faces from the community. There is something truly special about creating a place where people can gather, share their gifts, connect with one another and feel free to be themselves.

Do you have an idea for an event, class, workshop, circle, gathering or creative offering? I’d love to hear from you! Please reach out if you’re interested in hosting an event at Celebrate Movement or would like to collaborate.

Together, let’s create a space where connection, creativity, healing, movement and community can flourish.

Come celebrate movement.
Celebrate community.
Celebrate connection.
Celebrate creativity.

Apparently, 2026 really is my “My Tune-Up” year. A little personal life update, since some things will look a bit different for me over the coming months…

I have an upcoming surgery, treatment/therapy, and recovery period ahead of me. The really good news is that my doctor gave me a fabulous prognosis and this should hopefully clear up a number of things that have been hanging over me for a while. 💜. And before anyone worries…it is female junk, and everything is confined to that department. 😂. That alone feels like a pretty wonderful thing to be able to say.

The wheels will officially start turning in November with appointments, prep, and treatment, with surgery kicking things off in December with a bang. 💥😂. From there, I will have some recovery time and lifting restrictions, which I fully intend to follow this time. Apparently, my definition of “taking it easy” and everyone else’s definition are not always the same (as I found during appendectomy earlier this year). 😉

Soulshine By Shannon sound meditation sessions will continue as scheduled through October. After that, I will be taking a pause through the remainder of the year and into early spring. With the setup, hauling and lifting involved, it simply makes sense to give my body the time and space it needs.

I am tentatively looking toward March for a return, but I will be playing that part by ear and listening to my body.

As for music with Neil and Shannon Duo/Trio, I will also be playing that by ear and seeing how recovery goes. I am hopeful I can get back to performing fairly quickly, but I am giving myself permission to adjust as needed. I am incredibly thankful to have two amazing bandmates who are more than willing to handle the heavy lifting, with the added reassurance that a seat is always an option if I need one. 💜

So, I am choosing to look at this as a reset rather than a setback.

A little maintenance.
A little recalibration.
A little forced slowing down.
And hopefully, coming out the other side feeling lighter, healthier and ready for whatever is next.

2026: My Tune-Up Year.

Because sometimes life just happens…and apparently I was overdue for service. 😂💙✨
