Nothing is impossible, even Mermaids in the Desert~ Lisa Bonner, aka Desert Mermaid
Henna, or Mehndi, is a safe, temporary, all-natural body adornment. Henna comes from a shrubbery, grown in dry, desert regions of the world, including India, Pakistan, Morocco and Yemen. The leaves of the plant are dried, ground into a powder and other ingredients are added to create a paste that will dye the skin
a dark reddish/brown color. Henna, or Mehndi, as it is known in Indian culture, is an ancient art, transcending boundaries and belief systems, bringing people together into beautiful community. Henna is a sacred art, traditionally a part of weddings, done for the bride, groom, guests and bridal party. Henna is also offered as a blessing on pregnant mother-to-be's belly, or to mark any special ritual or rites of passage. Henna is also simply a fun, creative and safe way to temporarily adorn your body with designs unique to you. There are fun and whimsical designs to deep and spiritual symbols to mark an auspicious occasion, but Henna also has medicinal uses. Henna is a healing plant that cools the skin and can heal the skin of rashes and burns, when mixed for that purpose. A henna stain acts as a natural sun screen. Henna can also be used to naturally dye the hair, and is a wonderful conditioner. Henna is an art form that brings us closer to the creative spirit that dwells in all of us. Henna is a special addition to any ritual, ceremony or rite of passage, as a way to mark or bless the occasion. You can choose designs or symbols that represent your intentions. Connecting with the Tree of Life symbol on your ankle with the intention of grounding more fully into your life purpose, or adorning your arm with paisleys and butterflies to strengthen positive transformations in your life are beautiful ways to heal through setting special intentions for your henna tattoo. Receiving henna encourages you to be still and to meditate with your intentions. Your henna tattoo will then last one to three weeks on your skin, as a reminder of your intentions to contemplate throughout the life of the stain. Our Healing Henna uses fresh, all-natural henna from trusted suppliers, for our henna paste. And all natural, organic ingredients: sugar, tea, lemon juice and essential oils are also incorporated into the henna paste and aftercare product. A fresh batch of custom made henna paste is created for every event and special occasion. Adding puerh tea to the mix to mark a Henna Tea Lounge or mixing in jasmine essential oil into the henna paste will add a little magic to any henna experience. The intentions are in the mix. For special private appointments or sacred ceremonies Desert Mermaid will create formulas of essential ingredients to use in the henna paste, that will help you to ground more fully and absolutely with the intentions being set. Water infused with crystals, special blends of teas, and essential oil blends are used for each batch of healing henna paste. Crystals infused in the water used to make the tea, may include: amethyst, honey calcite, rose quartz, garnet, rhodochrosite, and/or flourite, among others. Some essential oils are well-known and used to enhance the henna stain, while others are wonderful to heal, ground and shift energy, such as: lavender, rosemary, frankincense and palo santo. Desert Mermaid, Lisa Bonner has been studying holistic healing since 1996. As a mother with seven children, domestic violence and childhood trauma victim, and brain tumor survivor she has had many personal experiences that inspire her to bring healing through the sacred healing art of henna. Desert Mermaid Mehndi, offers henna as a spiritual healing modality and blessing through positive intentions, and does not seek to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease.
