My Eulogy For Mt Rainier Clinic:
It was a tough day, Tuesday February 8, 2022. The last day of a dream by Russell Kolbo, D.C., N.D., The Mt. Rainier Clinic and Spa.
I have known, been associated with, Dr. Kolbo for over 50 years and he has been a friend, doctor, mentor, and colleague. But, all earthly things come to an end and this day was the end for the Mt Rainier Clinic.
This is also a new beginning for each of us who have been a part of the Mt. Rainier Clinic as a doctor, a nurse, a medical assistant, a colon hydro-therapist, a massage therapist, an acupuncturist, an administrative assistant, friend, and/or a patient. We have choices as to how we can view this ending and/or beginning experience. And the choices are not mutually exclusive. The choices are neither good nor bad and at the same time they can be both good and bad, as we make them. What has happened is “what’s so” and was exactly the way things were supposed to be. How can we be sure of that? Because, that is exactly the way they were, the way it ended!
Our choices include being sad and mourn Dr. Kolbo’s loss, our loss, the community’s loss. And/or we can be happy looking forward to the future with the experience, the knowledge, the relationships we have had the opportunity to have over the time we were associated with Mt. Rainier Clinic. We can be sad that all the services that were in one place are being dispersed and/or we can be happy, thankful, for what we were able to experience and learn in one place. Now it is time to go and learn and grow in some other place while sharing what we have learned at Mt. Rainier Clinic and from Dr. Kolbo.
This is the ending of this version of the Mt Rainier Clinic and it is a kick in the butt forcing us to move forward and grow in another place and manner.
I, we, wish for you a happy and healthy future and hope, know, that this is the beginning of something new and wonderful for each of us.
Fred Bomonti, D.C.
