Wyoming Career Spotlight: Anesthesiology + Endocrinology

Looking for your next opportunity in medicine?

Wyoming may have more waiting for you than you think. 🦬

This week, we’re spotlighting two physician opportunities currently being recruited through WHRN:

Anesthesiology
An opportunity to practice in Wyoming while being part of a team where your expertise is truly valued.

Endocrinology
A chance to help meet an important specialty need and make a meaningful impact on patients who often travel long distances for care.

Whether you’re actively looking, finishing training, considering a future move, or simply curious about what opportunities exist in Wyoming, we’d love to start the conversation.

And if these specialties aren’t yours, stay tuned — we have several more Wyoming opportunities we’ll be highlighting throughout September.

Know an anesthesiologist or endocrinologist who might be interested in Wyoming? Please share this post or send them our way.

📩 Reach out to WHRN to learn more.

🦬 Thinking About Wyoming? Start Here.

You don’t have to be actively job searching to start a conversation with WHRN.

Maybe you’re a resident thinking a few years ahead.
Maybe you’re finishing fellowship.
Maybe you’ve practiced somewhere else for years and are wondering if Wyoming could be your next move.
Maybe you grew up here and have always thought about coming home.

That’s exactly why we’re here.

WHRN connects healthcare professionals with opportunities and communities across Wyoming—sometimes for a position that is open right now, and sometimes for a possibility that may be years away.

No pressure. No need to have it all figured out.

Just start the conversation.

Because sometimes the right opportunity starts with a simple, “What’s out there in Wyoming?” 🏔️

🍂 Hello, September.

August was full of momentum, partnerships, travel, conversations, and some pretty exciting milestones for WHRN.

Now we’re stepping into a new month with our eyes on what comes next.

September will bring more conversations with healthcare leaders, more work around recruitment and retention, more opportunities to connect with students, more planning for 2027, and more time spent building the partnerships that strengthen healthcare across Wyoming.

Because workforce development is never really about one event, one hire, or one meeting.

It’s about building something that lasts.

That means thinking about the providers Wyoming needs today, the students who may become tomorrow’s healthcare professionals, the organizations working hard to serve their communities, and the systems we need to make all of it stronger.

So this month, we’re focused on one thing:

Building what comes next. 🦬

Here’s to a new month, new opportunities, and another step toward a stronger healthcare future for Wyoming.

August, you were a good one. 💙🦬

August reminded us just how many different pieces go into building Wyoming’s healthcare workforce.

This month, we sat at tables with healthcare leaders.

We welcomed new leadership to WHRN. 🤝

We recruited providers. 🩺

We strengthened partnerships across the state.

We hosted the 1st Annual Wyoming Healthcare Classic. ⛳

We connected with students at the University of Wyoming. 🎓

We traveled a few—or maybe more than a few—Wyoming miles. 🚙😂

And through all of it, we kept working toward the same goal:

Making sure Wyoming communities have access to the healthcare professionals they need—not only today, but for generations to come.

Because building a healthcare workforce takes more than recruitment.

It takes people.
It takes partnerships.
It takes purpose.

And there is so much more ahead.

To every hospital, clinic, provider, student, school, partner, sponsor, volunteer, board member, and community that continues to believe in this work—thank you.

You are part of what we're building.

August was a big one.

September... we're ready for you. 🦬💙

Dear future nurse, physician, therapist, pharmacist, PA, administrator, technician, counselor—or healthcare professional...

Wyoming needs you. 🦬💙

But here's something we want you to know:

You don't have to know exactly what you want to be yet.

You don't need to have your entire career mapped out.

You don't need to know what specialty you'll choose, where you'll go to school, or what community you'll eventually call home.

You just need opportunities to explore.

Healthcare is so much bigger than the careers most of us first think about.

Maybe you'll discover you love working directly with patients.

Maybe you'll find your place in technology, laboratory science, imaging, rehabilitation, behavioral health, pharmacy, administration, finance, human resources, public health—or healthcare leadership.

Maybe you'll discover a career you don't even know exists yet.

That's why WHRN wants to start the conversation early.

We want Wyoming students to see the incredible number of careers available in healthcare—and, more importantly, to see that there can be a future for them right here at home.

So, dear future healthcare professional...

Explore.

Ask questions.

Try something new.

Change your mind.

Find what you're good at.

Find what matters to you.

And when you're ready to figure out where you fit in Wyoming healthcare...

We'll be here. 🦬

🎓💛 The future starts here.

Today, WHRN is hanging out with the next generation at the University of Wyoming Saddle Up Involvement Fair!

One of my favorite parts of healthcare workforce development is getting upstream—connecting with students before they’re searching for a job and showing them just how many ways there are to build a meaningful career in healthcare right here in Wyoming. 🦬

Some students already know exactly where they’re headed.

Some are exploring their options.

Some have absolutely no idea yet—and that’s okay.

Because sometimes workforce development starts with one really simple conversation:

“Have you ever thought about healthcare?”

That conversation might lead to nursing. Medicine. Therapy. Behavioral health. Administration. Pharmacy. Imaging. Laboratory sciences. Technology. Or one of the many other careers that keep our healthcare system moving.

We may not know where these students will be 5, 10, or 15 years from now.

But one of them could become the healthcare professional—or healthcare leader—a Wyoming community needs someday.

That’s why we show up now. 💙

Welcome to WHRN, Pokes! 💛🤎🦬

Healthcare workforce shortages? Yep.
Recruiting physicians to rural Wyoming? Always.
Retention? Every day.
Emails? More than I care to count. 😂

But this morning we have something else to celebrate…

🎃☕️ PUMPKIN SPICE IS BACK!

And yes, I already have one in my hand.

I’m not saying a pumpkin spice latte is going to solve Wyoming’s healthcare workforce challenges…but I’m also not saying it won’t help. 😂

Now back to recruiting, retaining, and doing all the things — just with a little pumpkin spice involved. 🤎

⛳ Golf clubs packed away.
🎓 Now we're headed back to campus!

Tomorrow, WHRN is headed to Laramie for the University of Wyoming Saddle Up Involvement Fair! 💛🤎

We'll be spending the day meeting students, introducing them to WHRN, talking about the MANY different careers that exist in healthcare, and showing them how they can become part of Wyoming's future healthcare workforce.

And this is exactly why workforce development has to start long before there's an open position to fill.

It starts with exposure.

It starts with helping a student discover a career they didn't know existed.

It starts with showing them that they can build a meaningful healthcare career right here in Wyoming.

It starts with one conversation. 💙

Tomorrow isn't about recruiting someone for a job.

It's about planting seeds that could impact Wyoming communities for years to come.

Because when we walk across campus tomorrow, we'll be surrounded by students who are still figuring out what their futures look like.

And the future of Wyoming healthcare may be walking across campus right now. 🦬🎓

See you tomorrow, Pokes! 💛🤎
