Maybe “listen to your body” needs an asterisk.

ADHD: I need dopamine.
Trauma: I need relief.
Me: LET’S DO BOTH. 😂

Three hours later:
Everything is too much and now I’m crying.

An urge is communication.
It isn’t always instruction.

Instead of asking:
“What does my body want?”

Try:
“What is my body trying to change?”

Am I seeking stimulation…
or trying to escape a feeling?

Sometimes it’s ADHD.
Sometimes it’s trauma.
Sometimes they’re besties. 🤝

Listen to your body.
Just learn its language first.

✨ SACRED START IS EXPANDING ✨

A little growth worth celebrating:

I’ve officially received my privilege to practice in Minnesota through the Counseling Compact! 🤍

What does that mean?

Sacred Start Counseling is expanding beyond Wyoming, and I’ll soon be able to provide telehealth counseling to clients located in Minnesota.

There are still a few behind-the-scenes pieces I’m getting into place before officially opening my virtual doors to Minnesota clients — because doing this ethically, legally, and intentionally matters to me.

But for now, I get to celebrate this little milestone with you all! 🥹

Sarah at Whole Life Counseling and I had the opportunity to spend the last few days in Denver learning Attachment-Informed EMDR with Mark Brayne, an incredible EMDR therapist and trainer from London, UK. We also got the chance to hang out and chat with the amazing Jackie Flynn, Registered Play Therapist and EMDRIA consultant, and Rotem Brayer, EMDR therapist!

One of my favorite things about this training was how attachment, trauma, and the ways our earliest relationships continue to show up in the nervous system.

I’m coming home with new EMDR tools, a deeper understanding, and so many ideas for how to continue helping clients heal the places that words alone sometimes can’t reach.

Getting to learn alongside one of my favorite people made it even better. 🤍
