On the subject of b***s, you should be well versed. Here’s your monthly reminder to FEEL THEM ON THE FIRST!

Make self-exams a monthly habit! The mantra “feel them on the first” encourages you to have a routine date to check your breasts on the first of every month. Regular exams help you know your body better, making it easier to spot anything unusual.

Early detection is crucial for breast cancer survival. Detection at the localized stage yields a 99% 5-year survival rate.

Know your body. Know your normal. Report any changes.

🥰TERMS AND CONDITIONS🥰

When I imagined our new home, I knew what I didn’t want.

I did not want it to feel clinical.
I did not want it to feel like an office.
And I certainly did not want the women who walk through my door to feel like they were there because something was “wrong.”

I wanted it to feel like somewhere you could exhale.

Beautiful, unexpected, and a little cheeky… Comfortable enough to sit awhile and private enough to talk about the things that aren’t always easy to talk about.

Whether you’re here for a mastectomy fitting, compression, a cranial prosthesis, or simply something that helps you feel more like yourself again, you deserve more than a transaction. You deserve to be cared for.

Accessibility deserves a personality too.

The front landing at The Good Wife has a gentle slope designed to make our entrance more accessible. When we moved in, I wanted that accessibility to remain obvious, open and unobstructed. There would be no traditional doormat creating one more thing for a cane, walker or wheelchair to navigate.

But you know me… “Nothing there” was never going to mean nothing there.

So I called on Jennifer’s artistic talent and said, essentially, “I have an idea…” And she brought it to life with paint.

A doormat that isn’t a doormat.
A little welcome without an obstacle.
And, naturally, enough b***s to make absolutely certain you’ve arrived at The Good Wife.

Functional, accessible, a little cheeky… Tit for Tat.

Just one more tiny corner of our new home made unmistakably TGW.

🙈THE ROOM I ALMOST DIDN’T SHOW YOU…🙈

Because, well…it’s a bathroom. But as I’ve shared the different spaces inside our new home this week, it felt wrong to leave this one out. Especially because this little room may actually say more about what I wanted for The Good Wife Medical Boutique than almost any other room here.

When we created this space, accessibility mattered. I never believed accessible had to mean cold, clinical or institutional. I wanted it to be beautiful.

I wanted someone who needed a little more room, a grab bar, an accessible sink or simply a safe place to take a minute to feel just as considered as everyone else.

So we gave the bathroom the same treatment as the rest of TGW…beautiful details, a little drama, a little whimsy, and a whole lot of personality.

Dignity isn’t an afterthought. And neither is beauty.

I hope that when you visit, refer, or mention TGW, you FEEL like every inch of this new space was created with our houseguests in mind (because it was!)

👑FIT FOR A QUEEN 👑

There’s a reason this room feels a little different. This is the heart of The Good Wife Medical Boutique.

I wanted our fitting room to feel luxurious, private, warm and maybe even a little over-the-top. Because the women who walk through those curtains aren’t coming in for an ordinary shopping trip.

They’re being fitted for a wig after losing their hair.
A breast prosthesis after losing a breast.
Compression after surgery, cancer treatment, or a body that has simply been through a lot.

If there was ever a time to be treated like a queen, THIS IS IT!

But the most valuable thing in this room isn’t the velvet, the gold, the chandelier, or anything I could buy.

It’s that wall.

“YOU’RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME.”

Since 2024, every houseguest fitted in-house for a wig, mastectomy products, or compression has been invited to leave a message and sign that wall. Some are funny. Some are fierce. Some are tender. Together, they tell the story of the women who have come through this room…and left a little piece of themselves behind. That invitation still stands for every houseguest who comes after them.

When we moved, there were a thousand things that needed a new home.

That wall was the most important thing I brought with me…and it was the first thing that found its place.

The room around it may be new.The heart of it came with us.

🏠HONEY….WE’RE HOME!🏠

We’ve moved…and in a lot of ways, we’ve come home.

The Good Wife Medical Boutique has a new space, with an even greater focus on the specialized medical services that have become the heart of what we do.

Our new hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–3 PM, with personalized fittings also available by advanced appointment.

And there’s another exciting change: Jennifer Moonsong will be joining me in the boutique on Thursdays and Fridays! Her creative and warm spirit will be showing up in ways we are so excited to share with you…soon!

Our new location gives our Houseguests easier parking, more privacy and a space designed specifically around the women we serve.

You’ll find specialized fittings and products for:
• Mastectomy & breast prostheses
• Lymphedema compression
• Wigs & cranial prostheses
• Post-surgical needs
• Head coverings and specialty garments

You’ll still find gifts, locally/homemade treasures, farm-fresh soaps and those unexpected little things that make TGW feel like TGW.

There is SO much to show you about what this little building has become—but I’m going to save some of that for Transformation Tuesdays. Because if you saw where we started…you’re not going to believe it.

🖌️Paint The Town Yellow 🎨
On a cloudy day, this county wide event has caused excessive smiling, spontaneous confidence, and Tina-level fashion expectations.

Huge applause & thanks to our Tourism Office for bringing this bright and beautiful campaign to life. And a huge curtsy to the one and only tourism queen, Tina, who once again showed up dressed like sunshine with a VIP pass.
