Brown spots have a frustrating habit of making us think, “Where did THAT come from?”

The answer is often: years ago.

Sun damage is cumulative. The UV exposure your skin experienced over many summers can gradually show up later as uneven tone, pigmentation and those stubborn brown spots that seem to appear out of nowhere.

And here's the part people often miss:

Getting rid of the spot doesn't erase your skin's relationship with the sun.

You can improve visible pigmentation beautifully and still develop new spots—or see pigment return—if your skin continues to accumulate UV exposure.

So if you're investing time, money and effort into healthier, clearer skin, protecting it afterward matters just as much as treating it.
