Getting your annual mammogram is important. But for women with dense breast tissue, it may not be enough on its own.

Dense breast tissue is common, and many women don’t know they have it until their mammogram report mentions it. What’s less commonly understood is that dense tissue can make it harder to detect certain findings on a standard mammogram.
