This patient came to me after years of getting lip fillers which made not only her lips look unnatural and too big for her facial symmetry, but also had difficulty moving her lips while talking and eating. She took the first step and dissolving her top lip. I recommend that once you dissolve, you let your tissues heal for a few weeks and then redo the procedure in a very judicious way with a skilled injector *if warranted*.

Honestly, it takes a lot for me to keep up with social media stuff. I know a lot of injectors who are so skilled and fantastic (dare I say including myself), but they don’t have thousands of followers on their IG. BUT- we have patients in our chairs. We have patients who keep coming back. We have patients who share their lives in our chairs. We have patients who we look forward to just “catch up with”. And that’s what matters more!

In all honesty- I see so much crazy talk out there about what aesthetic treatments can and cannot do. Along with made up and especially anecdotal stories of the “unique” things that happened to people.

My philosophy is rooted in education. Wherever you go for your aesthetic treatments, make sure you leave with a thorough understanding of what these treatments are, what they can and cannot do, how they will help in achieving your goals. Find a provider that is right for you, and give everything some time. Natural looking results and rejuvenation don’t happen overnight. They happen with consistency.

Absolutely NO shade on 25 year olds. You have time on your side. But in my practice, almost nobody comes to me and says ‘I want to look 25 again.’

You know what they actually say?

‘I look exhausted even when I slept 8 hours.’
‘I look angry in every photo but I’m not.’
‘I just don’t recognize myself anymore.’

That’s not vanity. That’s your face not matching how you actually feel inside.

A lot of what reads as ‘aging’ is really volume loss. As we get older, we lose fat, collagen, and bone density in the face. That’s what creates hollowness under the eyes, heaviness along the jaw, and a general look of fatigue.

The goal of treatment isn’t to make you look younger. It’s to make you look like you — rested, present, like yourself on a really good day.

That’s the difference between chasing youth and investing in restoration.
