My last journey with the medicine brought me to a simple but profound realization.
The world is changing.
It always has been, and it always will be.
There are forces in this world that pull for our attention every day. One headline after another. One crisis after another. One more reason to be angry, afraid, divided, or distracted.
Fear is powerful because it keeps us looking everywhere except within.
But what if the greatest act of resistance is not getting pulled into every argument, every distraction, every narrative?
What if the real work is learning how to hold ourselves accountable for the energy we bring into the world?
The medicine reminded me that our moments are precious. Every conversation. Every sunrise. Every person we love. Every opportunity to choose compassion over judgment.
The future has not happened yet.
The past is already gone.
All we truly have is this moment.
I am learning to question more, react less, listen deeper, and trust my own connection to Spirit. Not because I have all the answers, but because I know that fear rarely leads us to truth.
When the world becomes loud, I return to the things that have always guided humanity.
Prayer.
Presence.
Nature.
Community.
Stillness.
Service.
Love.
There may be many paths ahead of us, but I believe the people who will help shape what comes next are not those shouting the loudest. They are the ones quietly doing their inner work. The ones healing old wounds. The ones choosing integrity when no one is watching. The ones remembering that every living thing is connected.
Many traditions speak of a time when humanity would be asked to remember who we are.
Not through fear.
Not through division.
But through the awakening of the heart.
If there is a spiritual battle taking place, I believe it is the battle between fear and love, separation and unity, unconsciousness and awareness.
And each day we get to choose which one we feed.
So stay grounded.
Stay connected to Spirit.
Take care of your mind, your body, and your heart.
Love the people in front of you.
Protect your peace.
Speak your truth with kindness.
And remember that no matter how much noise surrounds us, there is a wisdom within that can still hear the voice of the Great Spirit.
The world may be shifting, but that does not mean we must live in fear.
It means we must learn to live with greater intention.
The future will be built by those who choose love, accountability, courage, and compassion.
The sacred fire is not something outside of us.
It burns within us.
May we tend it well.
