Tai Chi/Qigong, CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Shamanic Practitioner, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, Komyo Reiki Okuden, and author, Suzanne Sweeney, teaches people how to improve health through diet, movement, mindset, and relaxation. Using an individualized approach, clients are assisted in determining the specific needs of their body and mind to overcome ailments such as digestiv

e disorders, stress, headaches, fatigue, and feeling stuck. Healing methods include advanced concepts in nutrition, functional movement, and relaxation techniques. Clients are given the knowledge, tools, and support needed to heal themselves, achieving results which last a lifetime. Suzanne’s background in math and science plus 20 years experience in the biotech industry support her grounded, rational approach to holistic healing while her life experiences, CHEK Institute education, intuition, and kind heart allow her to connect with each client in a unique and personalized way. CHEK Institute trained professionals are taught how to solve problems by looking at the whole individual, not just their symptoms. We don’t follow an algorithm; rather we identify what is essential to each individual’s development, then construct a carefully designed program to address their needs. This program includes diet, exercise, lifestyle factors, spiritual development, defining goals and dreams, and anything else that comes up. Though it is separate from health coaching, the opportunity to receive Reiki in conjunction with coaching is unique and can help you relax and gain clarity and insight, often allowing you to heal and reach your goals faster.

Homemade BBQ sauce, quick and simple.

I haven't eaten BBQ sauce in 15-20 years but I was craving it the other day. I stopped buying it because of the corn syrup, sugar, and other crappy ingredients.

But I wanted some!

So I decided to make it. It took 5 - 10 minutes to mix the ingredients then it simmered for 20 minutes. Then ready to spread in my baby back ribs! 😋

Ingredients:
Jovial crushed tomatoes (12-16 ounce jar)
Small can of tomato paste
Apple cider vinegar (about ¼ cup)
Molasses (to taste, about ¼ cup)
1 tablespoon of maple syrup (a little more if it suits your taste)
Paprika - I used a mix of smoked, hot, and sweet, mostly smoked.
Cumin
Jalapeño powder
One red chili
Salt and pepper

All spices to taste. Mix all ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.

Note- I added some tamarind paste because I had it and it's fun. I added less than a tablespoon because its tang would've taken over. You could also a touch of coconut aminos if that's your style (it's not mine).

Sooooo good and all good ingredients. Win-win. Try it this BBQ season

Immersed in Tai Chi Qigong wisdom this week 💗
From qigong with Master Yang Jwing-Ming of my tai chi lineage to 2 full days of "The Science of Tai Chi and Qigong" at Harvard.

Happy World Tai Chi & Qigong Day!
In lieu of my usual annual outdoor event, I share this video of "white crane spreads its wings" with you.

This movement is found in Yang style tai chi as well as being a stand alone qigong movement. Health benefits of this movement are numerous and include increasing spine mobility, boosting lung qi, increasing ability to take in oxygen to the lungs, flexibility in the chest, back, and spine overall, regulating liver and gallbladder, releasing stagnation, calming the mind.... and more.

In short, this movement, and Tai Chi and qigong in general, move qi, strengthen and mobilize the spine, support the organs, and bring a feeling of peace.

Spread your wings like the crane!

In Tao, even the smallest moment carries the deepest teaching.

This little friend reminds us: unconditional love flows naturally when the Qi of the heart is balanced. 🕊️

Smile inwardly.
Feel gratitude for life in all its forms — human, animal, and nature.
