Today is the day to try something new.

“If you wait until everything in your life is perfect before you begin something challenging and new, you’ll be waiting forever. The best time is NOW.” Bill Phillips

It doesn’t have to be anything major or complicated, it could as simple as making that recipe you’ve always want to try. Or maybe walking a different direction on your daily walk. Or maybe it’s starting a daily walk. It may sound silly, but it is empowering. Something many of us need with this virus raging back up.

Massage Therapy... the way to Outsmart Stress!

Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC knows the harmful effects that stress plays on the body. Somedays it seems like there is too much to do and not enough time. It’s important to pace yourself and find ways to relieve some of this tension and stress.

It can be delightful, schedule a relaxing massage, you need some “me” time, it’s an investment in yourself, help yourself to unwind and breathe.

You can also make time to exercise to release that tension, get your blood pumping and feel the tension melt away.

Make a list, it helps to have a plan each day, being organized can help relieve the stress.

Make time to meditate each day, or just have some quiet time, carve out a half an hour to just relax and breathe.

Come and experience what everyone is writing rave reviews about! Lynn is an intuitive healer, besides a trained massage therapist, from the Swedish Institute in NYC. She has been working with clients for over 40 years.

We love the many benefits of rose water…

Through the lens of , rose water can be used to cool a burning pitta dosha (body type), the mind-body force associated with fire, heat, anger, stress and ambition. However, the rose is a tridoshic flower and is beneficial for everyone year round.

Benefits:
Bath - Add rosewater to your bath when taking a bath, add a few drops and relax while the magic takes effect.

Dark under eye circles - Smear rose water on your dark circles daily. You will notice a visible reduction in your dark circles and puffiness of eyes too. Rosewater can help remove dark circles under the eyes.
Soothe your burning eyes - Soak two pads of cotton wool in organic rosewater at room temperature and then place them over your eyelids for 10 minutes.

Eye Fatigue - For any eye pain or fatigue, gently dip a cloth or cotton ball in rose water and place it on your eyelids for a soothing feeling that helps cool your eyes.

Make your own water:
To ensure there are no added chemicals to your rose water – it’s simple to make at home.

Purchase organic roses this will assure they are free of pesticides or chemicals. Use only petals, not the stem or leaves. Wash thoroughly to remove bugs and dirt particles.

Fill a pot with fresh rose petals and cover them with distilled water. The water should only just over the rose petals. Too much water and your rose oil will be very diluted.

Cover the pot, turn to fire to low and slowly bring it to a boil.

Allow the water to steam until the petals have lost their colour and the water has taken on the colour of the rose petals. You will see the rose oil floating on the surface. Turn off heat, keep cover on and let water come to room temperature.

Once at room temperature, strain out petals and pour into clean, sanitized glass bottle.

Store it in a refrigerator. It will last longer this way.

Enjoy ✨

Ayurveda and Juicing...

Ayurveda is clear on one thing: nothing is all good or all bad for anybody all of the time. And so it is with juicing. It can greatly benefit some people at certain times, and be absolutely detrimental to other people at other times. The way Ayurveda looks at individual constitutions as well as the qualities inherent in food and the seasons further supports this idea.

Juices by their very nature are cold, light and dry (no fat). Depending on whether you have more air (vata), fire (pitta), or earth (kapha) in your individual constitution, those qualities may or may not agree with you. On the plus side, juicing is a great way to provide your body with mega-doses of vitamins and nutrients, in an easily absorbable form. It will also give your body a break from digesting foods that are heavier and denser, so it has more energy to heal and repair itself.

Don't use juicing as a meal replacement - use it as a snack and never with ice.

As we move into summer and heat (Pitta Season) as well as Strawberry season try the below Pitta juice recipe and take note how it makes you feel.

Pitta –
What you need:
• 1 medium cucumber
• 1 small Kiwi
• 5 Strawberries
• 1 small Mango, peeled
• 1 cup of Pineapple Chunks
• 1/2 cup coconut water or regular water (room temp)
• 1 tablespoon of flax oil

Pitta is characterized by a powerful appetite that can become unbalanced with heavy spicy foods and likewise can become more balanced by sweeter and lighter foods. Since pitta is also associated with fire and heat, drinking this vitamin rich juice will be a welcomed coolant for an overactive pitta. The flax oil is a great Omega 3 alternative to almond, olive, sesame, and canola oils, which can be aggravating to a pitta.
