💜 Try This Thursday

👀 Try This!

Instead of saying:
“Mom, I already told you.”

Try:
“We’ll be leaving after lunch.”

❓Why should you answer her question a second (or even third) time?

It only takes a moment, and it gives her the answer she needs without making her feel embarrassed for forgetting. It can help you, too. When you accept that she truly doesn’t remember—and may be feeling anxious about it—it’s easier to stay calm and keep frustration from building between you.

💜 Dad Keeps Falling. What Do I Do?

📞 Talk to his doctor.

Falls can be related to medications, dehydration, weakness, or changes in his dementia or thinking.

🏠 If his physician recommends it and he qualifies, Medicare may cover home physical therapy at 100%. A therapist can come to the house, work on strength and balance, and look for things making falls more likely.

❓ Start with a simple question to his doctor: “Would Dad qualify for Home PT, and do you think it would help?”

LITTLE THINGS THAT MATTER 💜

Have you noticed your loved one trying to cover up when they’ve forgotten something?

Forgetting can be embarrassing—especially when they know it’s happening.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is to help them through the moment without pointing it out.

Protect their dignity, not the details. 💜

What questions sent you searching for answers?

Think back to the moments when you didn’t know what to do.

❓What did you ask your friends? Google?
❓What did you have to figure out on your own?

Maybe it was about a behavior, medications, falls, bathing, eating, driving, finding help, placement into a facility, hospice—or even something about how you were feeling about life.

If you had a friend who had all the answers, what would you have asked her/him?

As we finalize the What Do I Do When…? book, we want to make sure that your real-life questions are answered.

Why is this workbook different from other resources?
Keep it close

This isn't a workbook you read once and put on a shelf.

It's meant to be used.

Dog-ear the pages.
Write in the margins.
Come back when something changes.
Look up the question you're facing today.

Because dementia caregiving brings new questions all the time.

Keep the answers close. ❤️

How will this workbook support your caregiving journey?
When things change.

Dementia care changes constantly.

What worked last month may not work today.

The workbook helps you navigate the questions that come with those changes—from communication and medications to bathing, eating, wandering, sleep, safety and more.

You don't have to know all the answers. You just need to know where to find them. ❤️

When you don't know what to do

“Mom won’t take her medication. What do I do?”

“Dad keeps trying to leave the house. How do I stop him?”

“She keeps asking the same question over and over. What should I say?”

These are the moments we created this workbook for.

Instead of searching for answers when you're already overwhelmed, you can turn to one place for practical guidance.

WHY I CREATED THIS 💜

When my mom’s dementia worsened, my siblings and I faced plenty of unknowns.

Even as an RN working with dementia patients and their families most of my career, I was shocked at how much there still was to figure out.

We’re all searching for answers, all struggling to navigate through this ourselves. Not sure where to turn.

I could never find a resource that really helped us with the day-to-day challenges.

So, I created one. ❤️💜❤️

Stay tuned!
A waitlist is coming shortly.
In the meantime, I’ll keep sending you snippets about the book and how it can help you and your family. 🫶
