“Setbacks become love notes...” beautifully put. Thank you
It is in the struggle, in the pain that the biggest opportunity for loving-kindness for ourselves lives.

For years, the Loving Kindness Meditation has been something I struggle with.

Who am I? It seemed self indulgent...as I continue down this mindful path I have discovered that bringing loving kindness to myself first is the answer - if we cannot truly hold goodwill toward ourselves, we cannot hold suffering.
With this loving kindness for ourselves are equipped to then see the other, and send our kind heart - our love to them, unconditionally.

A Blessing for the New Year

One the day when
The weight deadens
And you stumble,
May the clay dance
To balance you.

And when your eyes
Freeze behind
The gray window
And the ghost of loss
Gets into you
May a flock of colors,
Indigo, red, green
And azure blue,
Come to awaken in you
A meadow of delight.

When the canvas frays
In the curragh of thought
And a stain of ocean
Blackens beneath you,
May there come across the waters
A path of yellow moonlight
To bring you safely home.

May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
May the clarity fo the light be yours,
May the fluency of the ocean be yours,
May the protection of the ancestors be yours.

And so may a slow
Wind work these words
Of love around you,
An invisible cloak
To mind your life.

Intention.
-
Mindfulness practice reminds that this beautiful precious life is here to open to, even in struggle. In setting heart-full intentions we are opening to inquiry, allowing the opportunity to reinstate what has been, and what is now important to you.
-
I invite you to look at this coming year and reflect, setting what intentions are meaningful to you.
-
What am I truly grateful for from 2020?
What do I want to invite into this new year?
What am I ready to release and leave behind?
What matters most to me now?
How can I show care and compassion to myself and others each day?
Where do I want to grow? To show up?
-
We are embarking upon a new year - leaving one that was so different from many we have all experienced before. Quarantines, new perspectives, new ways of looking at how we live and showing gratitude for this precious life.
-
2020 allowed the opportunity for some to re-evaluate what’s important and commit to a meditation practice. Committing to a mindfulness path is something to be recommitted to each day, each moment.
-
Cheers to all the blessings and wisdom from this year and all the goodness that will come from the next.

“Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness.”

Do you remember the last time you looked at a flower, at a situation, with awe and excitement? It used to be so easy when we were little, still learning & growing, to have that sense of wonder with something new.
Watch and experience what happens in the midst of change. Is it met with resistance, thinking that we should know the answers? Or rather with that delight and curiosity because we are about to embark on a new adventure?
The beginners mind opens, finds a sense of freedom in groundlessness, or allowing that pause and seat in the uncomfortable. Because in that unknown is where magic, strength & self-care are the most alive.
