Summer is approaching! Families are hiring! ☀️☀️ ☀️.
Kids with all kinds of disabilities or special needs such as cerebral palsy, autism, and other developmental or intellectual needs need you.
Care is sometimes hard to find for this community but we know you’re out there. If you’re looking for an impactful side gig or even looking for more of a full time role with the ability of working with multiple families to gain some experience working with kids and adults with disabilities, this is a perfect opportunity.
Are you thinking about or working on getting a degree in Speech Language Pathology, Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy? Our family has personally had many caretakers or respite providers who then moved on to receive degrees in each of these fields.
Working for a family who has a loved one with a disability can look different for each family. Some families may pay privately and some families may be working with a care agency who would pay you. Families are hiring for respite care!

What is respite care? Respite care for the disability community is when you are caring for an individual or a loved one to give that primary caregiver a break.
There is also a way to get paid as a respite caregiver by an agency on behalf of the family. This means you are employed by the agency so you are paid by the agency. This also means that you could care for multiple families if in need of more hours.

Friendships are everything for these kids. Help us raise a little more by sharing this post. We need to raise a little more to keep this running.
Just Like Mom Care was started to help families like mine find the respite care they need to get a break, to take care of the rest of their family and to just give the primary caregiver (a mom like me) a chance to take care of themselves.
Just Like Mom Care was also started to help these kids or adult kids find friends. Some of these kids can’t just text a friend, they don’t use or have a phone, they can’t call a friend because they are non verbal, they can’t drive to a friend because they can’t drive.
These kids or families many times need to pay someone to be a friend for their son or daughter for a day. We know that many caregivers love our kids but we know it still takes some work.
