What if your workday involved a chair massage between meetings? Ask a Colorado legislative staffer!
That's how one new ABMP member spent Massage Therapy Legislative Awareness Day (April 27) the moment he heard about it—fresh out of school and ready to volunteer to advocate for his profession. He joined Erin Haden, ABMP Government Relations Manager, and Laura Puryear, ABMP Director of Government Relations, plus two other ABMP members to offer complimentary chair massages to legislators and staff. As one staffer put it, MTLAD is their favorite day of the year—and you could feel why.
Massage and bodywork isn't a luxury—it’s health care, recovery, resilience. This is advocacy in action: therapists making the case for our profession, one minute and one lawmaker at a time. 🤝
💙 Thank you to our amazing ABMP members who volunteered their time, the legislators and staff who welcomed us, and everyone who keeps showing up for this profession.
