🌡️ Hot temperatures are on the way!

Washington is expected to experience Moderate (Orange) HeatRisk conditions this weekend and into next week, with Major (Red) HeatRisk possible in Southwest Washington on Sunday and Monday. There is also a 30–50% chance of Major HeatRisk developing in urban heat islands and mountain valleys across Washington.

A Major HeatRisk can affect most people, especially older adults, young children, outdoor workers, individuals with chronic health conditions, and anyone spending extended time in the sun.

✔️ Stay hydrated
✔️ Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning
✔️ Check on family, friends, and neighbors who may be vulnerable to heat illness
✔️ Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles

🔥 Despite recent rainfall, fire danger is increasing through the weekend and into next week. Drying vegetation and warmer temperatures mean an increased risk of brush fires.

Help keep our communities safe by avoiding activities that could spark a fire and staying aware of local fire restrictions.

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month.
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and the early signs can be easy to miss. Changes in memory, mood, communication, or daily routines may seem small at first, but noticing them early can make a real difference.
Healthy habits like staying active, eating well, and keeping your mind engaged can help support long-term brain health. And if you're caring for a loved one, small things like keeping routines simple, giving them time to respond, and offering reassurance instead of correction can go a long way.
If you notice ongoing changes in someone you love, don't wait. Start the conversation with a healthcare provider.
