Does your child seem perfectly fine at school but have big emotions as soon as they get home?

After spending hours listening, learning, communicating, sitting, moving, socializing, and managing emotions, some children simply need time to decompress.

Instead of immediately asking lots of questions about the school day, consider giving your child a little transition time.

Offer a snack, movement, outdoor play, a quiet activity, or some one-on-one time.

Then, when they're ready, start the conversation.

Instead of asking, “How was school?”

try:

“What made you laugh today?”

“What was your favorite part of the day?”

“Was anything difficult today?”

“Who did you play with?”

“What is something new you learned?”

Specific questions can make it easier for children to share their experiences.

Apple pie playdough no cook
To whip up a batch of this playdough apple recipe you will need a few simple materials:
* 1 cup of hair conditioner
* 2 cups of cornstarch mix
* Food coloring
* black beads for seeds (optional)
* green pipe cleaners for stems (optional)

This NO COOK playdoug recipe couldn’t be any easier. Simply mix the corn starch and any hair conditioner you like in a bowl until they form a ball. Use more cornstarch if it is to sticky and more hair conditioner if it is crumbly.
