Did you realize with all the poison ivy out this time of year, your pets could bring it in on their coats when playing outside. if you pet your animal or it sits on your lap, there is a possibility the poison ivy could transfer over. If you notice the red rash of poison ivy on your kids, most of the over-the-counter medications can calm the itch. If it worsens, bring your child in for one of our pediatricians to prescribe a stronger ointment.

Finding shade may be difficult to do when out at certain places like the beach or pool. But you can provide your own shade with hats and umbrellas, when shaded areas are sparse. Always be mindful of the sun's rays, and hydrate often.
