And just like that… Play It By Ear is underway!
Our first improv class on Friday evening was filled with laughter, creativity, connection, and plenty of “yes, and!” moments. It was wonderful to see blind and low vision participants and sighted community members come together in an inclusive space to listen, play, take creative risks, and simply have FUN.
A huge thank you to our incredible instructor Kimberly Herriman for creating such a welcoming and supportive environment, and to Santa Barbara Improv for collaborating with Blind Fitness to make this series possible. 💛
One class down, three more adventures to go—and we can’t wait to see where they take us!
✨ Missed the first class? There’s still an opportunity to join us beginning September 25! No prior improv experience is necessary.
📅 Remaining classes: Sept. 25 • Oct. 9 • Oct. 23
🎭 Beginner-friendly & inclusive

💪 Every month, something incredible happens.
Blind and low vision athletes come together to build strength, movement, and community through our Adaptive Gym Class. But this program doesn’t happen on its own.
It happens because dedicated volunteers show up. It happens because generous donors believe everyone deserves access to fitness. And it happens because our community chooses inclusion.
As we prepare for this Saturday’s class, we’re looking for:
🤝 Volunteers who are comfortable with gym equipment and body movement.
💙 Donors who want to help keep this program accessible and growing.
Every hour volunteered and every dollar donated helps create life-changing opportunities for our participants.
Next Adaptive Gym Class: Sat. Sep. 19
🔗 Volunteer or donate through the link in our bio.
Together, we’re building more than strength—we’re building belonging.
