She has seen firsthand how a lack of support and guidance can leave families feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and alone. That understanding is what led to the creation of Servant’s Heart Services. At Servant’s Heart, we are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care in a warm and supportive environment. We work hand in hand with families to ensure every senior feels valued, respected, and truly cared for—because every life deserves dignity, purpose, and a servant’s heart. 🤍

💜 June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month 💜

More than memory is affected by Alzheimer’s disease. It changes the way a person thinks, communicates, processes information, and experiences the world around them.

This month, let's take time to learn, advocate, and support the millions of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Knowledge creates understanding, and understanding creates compassion.

As a Dementia Specialist, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges families face—but I have also seen incredible strength, love, and resilience.

Whether you are a caregiver, family member, healthcare professional, or friend, your support matters.

💜 Learn the signs.
💜 Support caregivers.
💜 Protect brain health.
💜 Spread awareness.

Together, we can create a more dementia-friendly world where no family feels alone on this journey.

✨ Two Tip Tuesday ✨

Dementia care isn't about being right—it's about staying connected. 💜

When we focus on connection instead of correction, we create trust, reduce frustration, and help our loved ones feel safe and understood. Pair that with meaningful activities that bring purpose and joy, and you'll often see less anxiety and more engagement.

Remember: Every moment of connection matters, and every small success is worth celebrating. 💕

After more than a decade of supporting families through dementia and end-of-life journeys, I saw a need for something more.
Families often need guidance before crisis, support during crisis, and someone to walk beside them through the hardest moments.
That's why I created Heart of Comfort Care.
Many families don't realize that end-of-life support isn't one-size-fits-all.
Some families need guidance and education before a crisis ever occurs.
Others need hands-on support during active decline and the final days of life.
Heart of Comfort Care was designed to meet families where they are, providing compassionate support through every stage of the journey.
Whether you need help understanding what to expect, creating a plan, navigating difficult decisions, or support during active transition, you don't have to walk this alone.

💜 Mindful Monday 💜

Behavior Is Communication

When a loved one living with dementia becomes angry, refuses care, follows you everywhere, or repeatedly asks the same question, it can be easy to focus on the behavior.

But what if we looked a little deeper?

A person who is refusing a bath may be feeling scared, cold, embarrassed, or confused.

A person who is repeatedly asking for their mother may be seeking comfort and security.

A person who becomes agitated may be trying to tell us they are in pain, overwhelmed, tired, or frightened.

Dementia changes the brain's ability to communicate needs, but the needs themselves never go away.

Today, challenge yourself to ask:

✨ What are they trying to tell me?
✨ What need is behind this behavior?
✨ How can I respond with compassion instead of correction?

Sometimes the greatest breakthrough comes when we stop asking, "How do I stop this behavior?" and start asking, "What is this behavior trying to communicate?"

Remember:

💜 They aren't giving you a hard time. They are having a hard time.

✨ Two Tip Tuesday ✨

Sometimes the greatest impact comes from the simplest moments. 💜

Clear communication helps your loved one feel safe and understood, while celebrating the small victories brings joy, confidence, and connection to the caregiving journey.

Focus on progress, not perfection. Every smile, every calm moment, and every connection matters. 💕

There’s something special about watching your children grow into compassionate hearts. 💜

Seeing my daughter, Alyssa, laughing and dancing with one of our sweet Alzheimer’s patients reminds me that compassion can be passed down. Caregiving isn’t just about meeting physical needs — it’s about bringing comfort, joy, dignity, and human connection.
Seeing her love the elderly with such patience, kindness, and joy means everything to me.

The joy, connection, and love shared in moments like these are what caregiving is truly about.

Alzheimer’s may steal memories, but it can never steal the feeling of being loved, seen, and valued.

I’m proud to see Alyssa loving and caring for the elderly with the same heart and compassion that means so much to me. These moments matter more than words can say. 💜
