💙🎉 This Nurses Week, we're celebrating the heart behind our care!

At USM Health Services, nursing isn't just in our roots — it's in our everyday practice. Our Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) proudly began as nurses, with some of them earning their education right here through the USM and UMaine systems. Even our per diem providers are all FNPs and one DNP! Their journey from bedside nursing to advanced practice is a testament to what dedication and lifelong learning can achieve.

We're also honored to provide care to the students of USM's School of Nursing — we are more than happy to be supporting the very students who will carry nursing forward for generations to come. 🩺

TO EVERY NURSE OUT THERE: THANK YOU for your compassion, your grit, and your unwavering commitment to care. WE SEE YOU. WE CELEBRATE YOU! 💙🐾

🚨 New in Gorham Residence Halls! 🚨

Starting today, Wellness Dorm Carts are rolling out in main areas of Gorham dorms to help students easily access everyday health and wellness essentials when they need them most.

This student-led initiative was made possible through the hard work of Student Senate — thank you for recognizing this need and helping bring it to life!

A big thank you as well to USMS Confidential Resource Advisor and our Health & Wellness teams for assembling the carts and to Residence Life for helping roll them out across campus (Portland Commons is coming later this week!)

Each cart includes helpful essentials such as:

• Sexual Health: condoms, female condoms, lubrication, dental dams
• Menstrual Supplies: pads, tampons
• First Aid: bandages, antibiotic ointment, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, loratadine (allergy), ice packs, cough drops
• Wellness Items: tissues, lip balm, hand lotion, hair ties, A&D ointment
• Oral Health: toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss
• Resources: information to support student wellbeing

We’re proud to make wellness resources more accessible and help students feel supported right where they live 💙
