Look at this transformation! 🌱✨

Our volunteers have been working incredibly hard, and the Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc. is looking absolutely beautiful!
From the freshly tilled garden plots to the beautiful new landscaping and our official banners finally hanging on the walls, this space is truly coming to life.
With the building coming together, we are so excited to officially fill it with students! We have two major opportunities coming up, and registration is now open:

☀️ July Summer Camps
Our intensive, hands-on summer camps are full steam ahead for July! Students will rotate through our three core stations—Agriculture, Culinary Arts, and Retail Operations—learning real-world job skills, earning resume-building experience, and having a blast doing it. Space is limited to maintain our low 1-to-4 staff-to-student ratio!

🍂 Fall 12-Week Semester Programs (Starting in September!)
We are thrilled to announce our new flexible, part-time programs for the academic year! Perfect for homeschool cohorts, public school students utilizing our flexible time blocks, or young adults transitioning into the workforce. We offer 1 to 5 day-a-week options where students will master 21st-century workplace readiness skills and work toward professional certifications.

Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc. Update 🏢✨

This week has been a true reminder of how amazing this community is, mixed with a few hard lessons in patience!

First, the incredible progress:
Our building is looking better than ever! We have had an absolute army of volunteers in here scrubbing grease, staining the deck, and painting the bathrooms. We even had an unexpected blessing when a group of motorcycle riders stopped by to seek refuge from the rain. Not only were they great company, but they jumped right in and helped us move some heavy equipment so we could deep clean the floors! Only in Goshen! 🏍️💪 (Check out the pictures of the updated center below!)

However, I also have to share some unfortunate news. Due to low early enrollment and extended delays in getting our final state agency approvals processed, we have had to make the tough decision to cancel our June summer camps.

While it is incredibly frustrating when the bureaucratic side of things moves at a snail's pace, I am learning a very valuable lesson right now: everything happens in God’s time, and it will all work out exactly as planned. 🙏

We are taking this in stride and using this extra time to make the center even more perfect. We are still completely full steam ahead for our July camps! Thank you all for your continued prayers, volunteer hours, and support. We can't wait to open our doors to these students in July!

Want to be involved and would like to help? 🤝

We are officially seeking community sponsors to help send local youth to our upcoming Summer Camps at the Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc.!

The total cost to sponsor a student is $695 per week. This comprehensive rate ensures that we can provide an exceptional, high-quality experience for every single attendee. Your sponsorship directly funds:

🔹 The highest level of supervision and hands-on coaching
🔹 A very low 1-to-4 staff-to-student ratio for personalized mentorship
🔹 Intensive group instruction in real-world work skills
🔹 Lunch provided for the student every single day

By sponsoring a student, you are directly investing in their future and giving them the chance to learn valuable, authentic job skills in a safe and supportive environment.

If you, your family, or your business would like to sponsor a student for a week of camp, please send us a direct message or visit our website to learn how you can contribute!

Thank you to this amazing community for continuing to step up and support our youth! ❤️

We have some fantastic updates from the Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc.! 🏢✨

https://workskillstrainingcenterforyouth.org/

First, the physical progress: the building is looking better every single day! We just got two brand new banners hung up outside, and the deck is freshly stained and looking beautiful. 🖌️ Check out the picture below!

But the best update I have to share today isn’t about the building—it’s about the youth in our community.

A young man recently put in an application at the convenience store next door. I had to let him know that we already have a full roster of young people working there right now, but he didn't let that stop him. He showed up three days in a row, asking if we had any work for him.
I told him that while we didn't have a paid position, we had plenty of volunteer work over at the training center getting it ready to open. He immediately said okay and told me he was willing to do anything.

The very next day, he met me right on time. He worked a full day with us from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and he absolutely crushed it. He painted concrete, power washed the fence, and sanded mud without a single complaint.

I am incredibly proud of this young man. He has shown more initiative than most adults! He has an incredible work ethic, has now showed up two days in a row, and has absolutely worked his tail off for us.

Because of the extreme hard work and dedication he has shown at the center, I am thrilled to share that I am officially carving out a couple of paid shifts for him at the store! 🎉

This right here is exactly why I am doing what I'm doing at the center. I am building this for youth just like him—young people who want to work, who just need a chance, who need a mentor, and who are eager to learn real job skills.

Thank you to everyone who is volunteering, donating, and supporting us as we build this space for them!

Just a quick progress update from the Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc.! 🏢✨

While the outside of the building is still a work in progress, it is really starting to come together. We have our flags proudly flying and some beautiful hanging flowers up on the porch to make the entrance welcoming! 🇺🇸🌸 A huge shoutout to Mill Creek Produce, a local flower stand right here in Goshen, where we purchased these. They have an absolutely beautiful selection, so please go check them out and support local! Check out the pictures below to see how it all looks.

With our June launch fast approaching, I have also attached our official Summer Syllabus to this post! 📋 Our summer camps will run from 9:00 to 3:00 each day, focusing on authentic learning through indoor agriculture, culinary skills, and real-world retail training.

📣 WE NEED YOUR HELP: Volunteer Work Weeks! 📣
To help push us across the finish line for our June opening, we are hosting volunteer workdays for the next two weeks, Monday through Friday, starting on May 11th! We need any and all assistance. If you have some time and are willing to lend a hand, we need help with:
🛠️ Installing and filling flower beds
🛠️ Scraping and painting ceilings and walls
🛠️ Ripping up old laminate flooring and installing new laminate
🧽 Scrubbing floors
🛠️ Hanging lights
🛠️ Pumping, cleaning and refilling the pond
🛠️ Replacing posts on the stage to get it ready as a beautiful outdoor venue
🛠️Staining the outdoor porch and bench planters
🛠️Putting Polyurethane on the handrails
🛠️And many more projects....

We have a massive update from the Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc.! 🏢✨

It has been an incredibly busy and blessed few weeks, and we have a lot to share about our progress and our timeline.

**First, the renovations!** 🛠️
Our space is truly transforming. Inside, we have clean, freshly painted walls (with some exciting ceiling updates coming soon!), and we are currently clearing space to install a commercial dishwasher for our commercial dishwasher. Outside, the exterior is getting a much-needed facelift as we paint the building, the window trim, and the doors.

Next, some truly amazing news🌱💚
We were generously gifted a greenhouse by Will Hoff and his family! To make this even more incredible, the town of Goshen gave us a $5,000 donation to help us get set up. We are absolutely blown away by the outpouring of support.

Finally, an update on Summer Camps!☀️🗓️
We just received word that our new greenhouse will be built and installed mid-to-late September. Instead of letting that slow us down, we are pivoting!

Summer camps are OFFICIALLY ON for this June!🎉
Because the greenhouse will be arriving in the fall, we are designing our summer programs to focus heavily on our other amazing hands-on training areas. We will be diving into our culinary and food service training in the commercial kitchen, and doing real-world retail and work skills training right next door at the convenience store!
Delivering a top-notch career and tech ed experience is our number one priority, and this pivot ensures our summer students get a fully realized, incredible experience while we get ready for the massive greenhouse launch this fall.
Thank you so much to Will Hoff, the Hoff family, the town of Goshen, and everyone following our journey. We cannot wait to get to work this summer!

We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of this community! 🏢✨
Yesterday, the Work Skills Training Center for Youth Inc. received an incredible gift: a greenhouse generously donated by Will Hoff and his family. To make things even more amazing, the town of Goshen has given us $5,000 to help us get it set up and ready to grow! 🪴🍅
This is a massive leap forward for our agriculture curriculum and the Goshen Greenhouse Growth Initiative. Having authentic, hands-on learning spaces like this is exactly what we envisioned for our students.
The outpouring of support we have received as we get ready for our June launch is truly amazing. We cannot wait to get our hands in the dirt and start this next chapter! 🌱💚
Thank you so much to Will Hoff, the Hoff family, and the town of Goshen!

The transformation is getting real at the Work Skills Training Center for Youth! 🚧✨
Our space is looking brighter and bigger than ever with our fresh, crisp white walls. It is amazing what a little paint can do! Next up on the renovation to-do list: a brand new ceiling coming very soon. 🔨
Every step forward brings us closer to our big launch, and we are getting so excited to welcome everyone for our first summer camps this June. The countdown is officially on! 🗓️🌱
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks as we continue to build out the space!
