Someone got their first haircut after chemo. It was just a trim but it was still rather emotional. Something as insignificant as a haircut means so much after facing and beating CANCER! Aspyn was nervous but showed so much courage to sit like a big girl and get her hair trimmed.

Aspyn got to see Santa today and was effectively pleading her case.

I just got results from Aspyns MIBG scan and her Curie score is 0! She is CANCER FREE!!!!!

Update: she is in recovery and we are waiting on her to wake up.

Sitting at the hospital waiting to hear that Aspyn is done with her scans. It’s been a long day. She had two scans today MIBG and full body CT Scan. Her procedure started at 12:45 but we haven’t heard anything since then. Very scary to not know. The MIBG was supposed to take 2.5 hours and the CT scan is supposed to be 1.5 hours. Hopefully we only have 30 minutes before I get something telling me she is in recovery. Until then I will be waiting impatiently. Hoping and praying the cancer around her eye rim is no more and her tumor is not wrapped around her ureter and no new growth since she hasn’t had IV chemo for awhile. ❤️

I’ve been asked a lot about what Aspyn wants to be for Halloween. When we ask her what she wants to be her answer is heartwarming…..she wants to be Aspyn. I’ve heard Zombie, Witch, Police Officer, but she always settles on being Aspyn. I love the fact that she wants to be herself even after everything she’s been through. I know I may be reading more into that than I should as she hasn’t really ever gone trick or treating. She dressed as Bluey her very first Halloween but being 7 months old doesn’t exactly make trick or treating possible. Having chemo on Halloween last year didn’t really make trick or treating something we strived for. So, if we show up at your door costume less just know Aspyn is being Aspyn and I am letting her control certain aspects of her life that don’t really make or break things.
