Did you know that our spinal column also holds trauma and is deeply connected to our central nervous system?

As I was doing fascial release of my spine this morning, I could feel stuff come up especially around the kidneys...after 51yrs of living in this body and doing self-healing for the last 15yrs, stuff still comes up from timetotime.
I experienced an emotional release and an awareness that there are still some underlying fears (myself getting in my own way...doubts, imposter syndrome, etc.).
Time to process and keep doing the work ✨️

Another beautiful testimony 💓
Makes my heart so full with gratitude 🙏

I believe we all can be free ✨️ free from the shackles of ingrained beliefs, stored traumas, addictions, and unhealthy cycles of behaviors. The key is awareness.

When we become aware of where our unhealthy patterns of behaviors are coming from, we can either be open to them which can be extremely painful, uncomfortable and triggering or we can just ignore them and move on with our daily "busyness" and pretend they don't exist by distractions and addictions.

I have spent a decade and a half working on myself because deep down I knew I was feeling suffocated and claustrophobic inside my own body and mind. I wanted an out, real bad. I was desperate but knew better not to numb myself with drugs or alcohol. Yes, I did go through phases of other addictions such as overeating to pacify the inner sadness, overexercising to prove my worth in the world and shopping to fill the void or loneliness.

I still find some old patterns surface but after lot of self-reflection, I am very well aware of them when they come up and journal immediately to process.
Yin Yoga is another path to release deep stored (sometimes forgotten) trauma that we think doesn't exist but shows up when we do stretches or when we get a massage or when we visit a chiropractor. Some parts don't let go no matter how much we try. The abily to soften and surrender in Yin Yoga is the key to target the deeper fascial traumas that have roots in our childhood or young adulthood.

This is my purpose and path that I want to continue to offer to whoever feels called to explore. A yoga retreat is a nice way to go deep without life commitments.
When we retuen, we continue to do the work daily peeling layer by layer to free ourselves and experience true joy and happiness that we always deserved....
Ihas nothing to do with the outside world but everything do to with our inner world ✨️

🧘‍♀️NEW CLASS ALERT 🧘‍♂️

2026- very different times that we are living in..
Life has become busier that ever...with smartphones at our fingertips, we are constantly being bombarded with news (mostly bad) creating fears and uncertainties.
Every ping and notification creates this obsession of checking our phones all the time. We fill boredom (I am guilty of this) with doom scrolling.
Of course, I have learned a lot of health and wellness from social media but I also have to be more aware than ever before of how I can get sucked in and how it keeps me wired raising my stress hormone especially in midlife. Boundaries and self-care have become paramount for my overall well-being.

Normal stress like getting up in the morning, exercising, going to work, dealing with real life issues like kids, bills, emails, etc..has been part of our lives for eon but nowadays, with constant mental stimulation from smartphones, our daily stress has increased to another level. We don't sleep well and subsequently, we don't recover well.
Stress hormone, , is important for our survival and for dealing with normal day to day activities. But, chronic high cortisol can create havoc in our bodies especially when we don't get quality sleep.
Restorative practices like taking a warm bath, reading a book, breathing practices, meditation, journaling, or doing restorative yoga can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reduce cortisol, and improve the vagal tone which is associated with good HRV (heart rate variability).
High HRV is associated with good recovery of mind and body so we can function optimally. As we get older, we need to be a little more proactive with our daily habits so we can stay healthy and well as we continue to get older.

Every Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm Eastern Time.
You can do drop-in, or purchase a five class pass to experience the class and see how you feel.
Accessible to all ages. Only 4-5 poses taught while fully supported with props. You don't need any prior experience and neither do you need to invest in buying expensice yoga gear. Just a quiet and comfortable space with some blankets and pillows 😌 ✨️

The end game…

There is a lot of movement in the world. Everyone is rushing trying to get something or somewhere. We are so focused on achievements that we lose sight of the big picture…what is the end game? We are not immortal.
All the hustling…for what? Earth is round and our lives are impermanent…there is no real destination.

The work is in journey…in the now…in the stillness….

Every day, from the moment we wake up, we have a chance to show up as the best version of ourselves.
We need to learn to be kind and compassionate to ourselves first so we can be the light in someone else's darkness. It begins each day with taking a moment to reflect on our inner state, do some mindful practices to fill our cups with self-love, self-acceptance, self-compassion and self-forgiveness.

The ultimate goal of our lives is to become better versions of ourselves each day through the practice of self-reflection. Everything else (careers, money, big cars, big houses…) are all just sprinkles and icing on the beautiful cake of a

“life lived with a higher purpose through self-growth"

This post for anyone who struggles with feelings of or

I have mentioned in my previous posts that I always felt unworthy of love, not enough, and had fears of being abandoned because of spending a lot of younger years alone.

From years of journaling and self-reflection, I have been able to recognize why I struggled in relationships especially when it comes to friends or romantic relationships.

What I am about to share is deep and requires some self-awareness and ability to look at ourselves with an open mind and heart. No criticism.

We encounter all kinds of people in our lives. Some stick around and some decide to ghost you without explaining. When that happens, the first thing we tend to do is question our self-worth...was I not enough? what did I did wrong? did I say or do something that was inappropriate? no one likes me...
All kinds of self-doubt creeps in..
Immediately after, we start to rationalize the situation...blame the other person, not meant to be, find all kinds of faults in them...this is an act of self-preservation or self-defense.
Then, we build up a wall or a fake facade of trying to toughen up but on the inside the energy is pretty strong. It just needs another experience to get triggered again. This is the cycle.

Instead, if we take a step back and maybe sit with the pain or the energy to surface...or journal...we can find the roots of the pain in our past experiences when we felt abandoned or felt unlovable because of our appearance or family or whatever the reason might be. For me it was when my dad told me I was supposed to be a boy (unwanted), when I was told I was fat and laughed at (unworthy), when no one wanted to be my friend (loneliness or abandoned).

When we sit with the pain, the associated energy releases itself and we recognize that it is not the person to blame but it is a repressed part of ourselves that got triggered.
This applies to all areas of our lives.

Is it the destination or the journey? ✨️

When I began my yoga journey, I found myself feeling the enormous pressure of achieving a final pose. Inversions and arm balances take the prize for "advanced" yoga and someone's ability to stand on their head or hands is considered an advanced practioner. A humble pose like (mountain pose) or (triangle) is considered beginner..or mediocre. No wonder the first thing I hear from a newbie..."I am not flexible"..

I was so overwhelmed that I even began questioning if I will ever be a good at yoga...
When I joined Iyengar yoga, I learned how each pose can be so intricate and so much more advanced given the following one rule-
"Approach the pose with a fresh set of eyes every single time regardless of how many times you may have done it".

This was definitely a game-changer. When I learned and am still learning Tadasana, I found myself doing all poses effortlessly. Tadasana humbles you. It is a very hard pose to understand and can be used as a roadmap for thousands of poses in the yoga library.
I did leave the Iyengar tradition after a decade only because two things I didn't learn from my teachers..
-benefits.
-what happens during.

This is where the magic is ✨️
We get so caught up on achieving the final shape of the pose that we miss everything in between...setting up a strong base, acknowledge and accept our limitations, honor our limitations using appropriate props which can and will change each day (ebb and flow), find stillness and composure in the pose, noticing the inner resistance (nervous system, clenching, tightness,.etc.) and be able to slow the breathing like while holding the alignment, and doing all the things as aforementioned to actually "receive" the benefits (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) ...these are things no one taught me. I had to learn this in my own practice and this is exactly what I teach.

I see so many people spending $$ on yoga and yoga clothing and make it more of a workout for aesthetics or for follows. Yoga has so much more to it and I firmly believe it is a mind- body-soul practice if done right and taught right.
