Most people hear the word "dialysis" and think of a machine.
What they don't see is what that machine gives back.
It gives grandparents more birthdays with their grandchildren.
It gives parents another chance to watch their children grow.
It gives husbands and wives more anniversaries, more morning coffees together, more ordinary moments that become priceless.
Three times a week, for hours at a time, our patients show up and fight for time. They sit in a chair while a machine does the work their kidneys can no longer do. It's life-changing.
So they keep showing up.
They show up for graduations they want to attend.
For weddings they don't want to miss.
For fishing trips, vacations, holidays, new babies, and quiet evenings at home.
Dialysis isn't just about cleaning blood.
It's about preserving life.
It's about creating more tomorrows.
Behind every dialysis treatment is a person with dreams, plans, people they love, and people who love them back.
That's the part most people never see.
And that's the part we'll never forget.

Every treatment tells a story. We're honored to be a small part of helping our patients write the next chapter.

Around 1 out of 7 people have some form of kidney disease. Kidney disease often develops quietly, and many people may not notice symptoms right away.

Some possible warning signs can include: Swelling in the feet or legs
Feeling very tired
Changes in urination
Nausea or poor appetite
Trouble controlling blood pressure

Diabetes and high blood pressure are two of the biggest risk factors for kidney disease.

Regular checkups and lab work can help identify problems earlier and support better long-term health.

At Aurora Dialysis, we believe great dialysis care is built on more than machines, schedules, and lab values.

It’s built on relationships.

In a setting where patients spend hours with us multiple times every week, trust matters. Consistency matters. Being known matters.

That’s why we focus not only on clinical excellence, but also on creating an environment where patients feel seen as individuals, not just diagnoses.

Dialysis is life-sustaining care, but it’s also deeply human work. Every treatment is an opportunity to support comfort, dignity, education, independence, and quality of life.

We’re proud of the team we’re building at Aurora Dialysis in Grand Forks, and of the culture of accountability, compassion, and teamwork that continues to grow inside our clinic every day.

Healthcare is changing quickly. We believe the future of dialysis care should still feel personal.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Aurora Dialysis!

We know days like today can look different for everyone. Some are celebrating, some are missing people they love, some are working, caregiving, healing, or just trying to get through the day.

But today, we’re thinking especially of the moms and maternal figures in our community and we hope you feel appreciated in some way today, big or small. 🌷

A typical morning in dialysis, way before most people have had their first cup of coffee.

Before the doors open, the work has already started.

Machines are tested. Safety checks are completed. Every treatment is reviewed before a patient even walks in the door.

When patients arrive, it’s not just about getting them in the chair. It’s assessing how they look today versus last treatment. Subtle changes matter here, weight trends, blood pressure patterns, access condition. Small things can become big problems quickly if you miss them.

Throughout treatment, we’re not just watching a machine run. We’re monitoring how the patient is tolerating fluid removal, watching for symptoms, adjusting in real time, and communicating as a team.

By the time a patient leaves, their treatment has been evaluated, documented, and used to guide the next one. Nothing is random. Everything builds on the last treatment.

This is dialysis.

At Aurora Dialysis, we focus on doing this well, consistently, as a team, every time.

Because we’re not just treating a diagnosis, we’re caring for individuals.
