🎓 Turning 18 brings new rights, responsibilities, and legal obligations for all young adults.

We recently came across a great resource and wanted to share it with families, young adults, educators, and professionals.

📖 "Living in an Adult World: Your Legal Rights and Responsibilities" provides practical information about many of the legal issues young adults may encounter, including contracts, credit, employment, housing, driving, jury duty, marriage and family issues, interactions with law enforcement, consumer rights, and more. Follow the link below to download the booklet.

The website also includes adapted materials designed to help young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), educators, and support professionals access information and learning activities that are easy to read and understand. The adapted materials help to increase the capacity of transition-age youth to be legal decision-makers as they reach adulthood.

Voting is a basic right, but for many people with disabilities it’s often not accessible. Barriers like inaccessible polling places, lack of transportation, and strict ID rules can make it harder to register and vote. Now, Congress is considering bills that could make these barriers even worse. These decisions could impact millions of voters with disabilities.

Take action now and tell Congress to protect voting rights for people with disabilities: https://bit.ly/489Qp2L
