Meet Sehra, dental volunteer! ✨

Sehra is a dentist from Pakistan who recently moved to Michigan. While she works hard toward her Michigan dental license—a journey that requires additional schooling—she is graciously volunteering in the Muskegon and Grand Haven areas as she awaits this future.

The LIA Free Health and Dental Center team has been so incredibly blessed by her presence, her heart for service, and her skills as she serves as a dental assistant!

We have big news to celebrate. Through LIA connections, Sehra just accepted a position at Hackley Community Care Dental as a paid dental assistant. We are thrilled she can use her talents and gain U.S. clinical experience while continuing her dental journey!

Way to go after your dreams, Sehra! We are so proud of you, rooting for you, and honored to be a part of your journey! 🦷 🤍 👏

Men's Health Event Report 📋: Gratitude! ✨

We praise God for our first Men's Health Event! It was a day of high activity and moments of meaningful connection! Participants shared conversation, started paths of healing, and experienced empowerment for change. One man shared that the visit helped him "worry less," as he learned about health findings he can proactively manage. Another shared how the event inspired change (check out his story in the photo!).

The Immediate Impact:

✅ Area Volunteer Physicians, Nurses, MAs, and others giving skills
✅ Cholesterol and A1c Checks informing health status
✅ Skin findings leading to needed Dermatology referrals
✅ Medicaid Consultations
✅ Lives changed through compassionate care!

It's been a different week for dental center staff, as the Michigan Dental Association is in Grand Rapids for their annual Sparkling Smiles fundraiser and Session (conference). Hans, Dental Manager, is pictured here representing LIA at the exhibit hall of their annual session to connect with dental professionals and suppliers.

The MDA foundation has generously supported initiatives of LIA to increase patient care over the last few years and we are so grateful for them!

Do you know a man who has been putting off his health because of insurance or financial barriers? We want to help.

Love in Action is hosting a Free Men's Health Event offering physicals, skin checks, and blood work at no cost. It’s tailored to men's needs and aimed at helping them stay healthy for all they are called to do. Please share and help us spread the word!
