Today is National Grief Awareness Day.
And I want to talk about the kind of grief nobody sends flowers for.
Because I’ve learned that grief isn’t only about losing someone you love.
Sometimes you grieve the woman you had to become to survive.
You grieve the years you spent people-pleasing, performing, holding everything together, and putting yourself last.
You grieve relationships you thought would last forever.
You grieve the childhood you deserved but didn’t get.
You grieve the dreams that quietly disappeared while you were busy taking care of everyone else.
You grieve the version of yourself who stayed too long, tolerated too much, or didn’t yet know what she knows now.
And sometimes the hardest grief comes when you finally realize…
You can’t go back to who you were.
For a long time, I thought healing meant becoming someone new.
Now I understand that so much of healing is allowing myself to grieve who I had to be.
To feel what I couldn’t feel then.
To acknowledge what I couldn’t see then.
To forgive myself for what I didn’t know then.
And to let those old versions of me rest.
That grief has become part of my healing.
It has also become part of why I do what I do.
Because I know what it feels like to have something happening beneath the surface that you can’t quite explain.
To look like you’re fine while something inside you is asking to be seen.
This is the work I call Making the Unseen Visible.
Not because I have all the answers.
Because I’ve walked through enough of my own darkness to recognize the places where people often get lost.
And sometimes healing begins with something very simple:
Someone finally sees what you’ve been carrying.
If you’re grieving something nobody else can see,
I want you to know this:
You don’t have to justify your grief for it to be real.
You don’t have to rush through it.
You don’t have to make it beautiful.
You don’t have to be “over it.”
You are allowed to grieve the life, person, dream, identity, relationship, or version of yourself that you lost.
And you are allowed to discover who you are on the other side.
Rollerballs are available in office and can be shipped.
