Today, I taught Oncology Massage to our students at Synergy Wellness Academy, an experience that was both humbling and rewarding. As a cancer survivor, I shared my knowledge with future therapists on how to provide compassionate care to cancer patients.

Using bottle caps, I created mock "chemo ports" to help students understand the challenges of navigating massage around a port. Also, to experience it from a patients perspective on the table.

I am proud of this group's commitment to delivering exceptional care!

To prepare students for their initial Kiniesiology exam, we implemented a basic yet impactful strategy to demonstrate planes of motion and direction. As a massage therapist with 7.5 years of experience, I benefited from this review.

This uncomplicated concept vividly illustrates movement dynamics and emphasizes the value of Kiniesiology in refining our client intakes to benefit their sessions.

1. Eating a balanced meal or snack rich in protein to prevent lightheadedness.

2. Drinking water or herbal tea for optimal hydration and relaxation.

3. Putting your phone/devices on silent mode to fully immerse in the experience.

Ideally, massages should occur every 4-6 weeks, but life can intervene. To maintain post-massage relaxation, try these tips:

1. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

2. Engage in gentle movement like stretching and walking.

3. Consider mini sessions between full-length appointments.

4. Make time for self-care activities that reduce stress.
