This fun, family-friendly event invites the community to enjoy the beautiful Herb Pham Botanical Garden and connect with nature.

This year, we're teaming up with the Josephine Community Library to host Story Walks and Story Time in the garden-helping highlight the importance of our local libraries. Enjoy tasty food and snack from local vendors, shop handmade goods at the craft sale, and spend a day outside with nature, learning, and community fun!

Quick: You can only take ONE of these for your emergency kit. Which are you choosing? 🚨

When it comes to a standard first aid kit, people always argue over which medication is the absolute must-have.

Take a look at the photo.
👉 Left or Right?
👉 Zyrtec or Pepcid?
👉 Maybe something similar?

Drop your choice below and tell me exactly why in the comments.

Let's see which one wins!

We have said it before and we will say it again...

We respect the inherent worth and dignity of others. That includes the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pride is a fundamental pillar of equality and self-worth, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ community. It is vital because it provides life-saving visibility, serves as a radical act of joy against discrimination, and fosters community for those facing isolation.

Opposition to Pride is heavily influenced by three factors - political ideology, religious beliefs, and gender.

Political ideology, religious beliefs, and gender differences also contribute to global conflict when they are used to create "us versus them" divisions, which as we have seen through history leads to systemic violence, war, and societal collapse.

When these three factors are weaponized, they drive large-scale human suffering through specific sociological mechanisms fueled by hate.

Hate is a secondary emotion, it is a mask for fear, insecurity, and a lack of understanding.

We have the power to choose a different legacy...

We do not have to agree on everything to agree on the fundamental dignity of every human life.

Rise above the urge to vilify those who are different. Channel that energy into understanding, because the future belongs to those who build bridges, not those who build walls.

Let's choose to be bridge builders.

Todays life lesson-

I created Healing Mama Wellness for EVERY BODY, and today I’m reminded why.

An injury has me using my cane again, and if I’m honest, it still brings up feelings.

Years ago, a dear friend got tired of watching me hobble around refusing any support so she made me this glimmering cane. I am like a raven, I love sparkling, glimmering things!

Unfortunately, I don’t use it as often as I should. My phone’s fall-risk alerts are often a reminder of why I should use it.

The reality is that our bodies change. Sometimes they ask us to do things differently. That doesn’t mean we stop living the lives we love, it means we build a new relationship with them.

Maybe I won’t summit another mountain, but I can still drive up to one, sit on a mountaintop and soak in the beauty. Different doesn’t mean less.

Life is about adapting, growing, and discovering new ways to experience joy. And that’s exactly why Healing Mama Wellness exists: to create spaces where EVERY BODY is welcome, supported, and celebrated through every season of life.

After work tonight I spent some time in the soft rain sitting among the flowers in my garden.

I was a little saddened to see that the rain knocked these aging petals off a plant. Then it hit me, I saw myself in these petals and not in a good way, but in a way that felt uncomfortable. Like am I past my best years? Has my purpose passed?

Then I thought NOPE!

These petals may have fallen from the flower, but their beauty has not disappeared. Their purpose has not ended. They still nourish the earth, protect new growth, and become part of something larger than themselves.

Sometimes we view our own lives through the lens of what we have lost. This can be our youth, our health, our certainty, our old identities.

We can mistake change for diminishment. But nature tells a different story. Nothing is wasted. Nothing loses its worth simply because it looks different than it once did.

Like these petals, we continue to matter through every season of life. Our experiences, scars, wisdom, and resilience all serve a purpose.

We may not always be in full bloom, but we are still contributing, still growing, still beautiful, and still needed.

The world doesn't need us to remain unchanged. It needs us to keep showing up, exactly as we are, trusting that our value is not measured by what has fallen away, but by the life and meaning we continue to bring wherever we land. 🌸💗
