Tyler came to Starr Horse Retreats as a participant in our Holistic Clicker Training Program and stayed on to continue training with the herd.

Using positive-reinforcement clicker and target training, Tyler discovered that Valentine is quite the jumper! He has also begun riding Feather bitless and ba****ck, building their partnership through choice, communication, and trust.

Tyler has become part of the herd, and the horses absolutely adore him. As we prepare to move Starr Horse Retreats to Standing Rock Ranch in Grass Valley, California, we hope Tyler will keep making the trip to work with the horses every couple of weeks.

They are going to miss him. ❤️🐴

Happiest Horses in the World! 🐴💗 October 1 Pasture Day!

They’ve been waiting ALL summer for this moment! October 1 means the east field is finally open, and the herd absolutely lost their minds with joy. Feather rearing, Foxy Brown flying, and even 30-year-old Legend galloping and leaping through the field. I couldn’t wait to wake up this morning and open that gate. THIS is what happy horses look like. 💗🐴🌱
