A lot of adults on Montana Medicaid are working with a yearly dental benefit limit...and once those funds are used, treatment may have to wait until the next benefit year begins.
That's why this time of year is so important.

Since benefits reset on July 1, we often encourage patients to come in during May or June so we can help them create a treatment plan that works strategically with their coverage.

In some cases, this can help patients complete care much faster by using benefits before and after the reset instead of stretching treatment over multiple years.

Most people don't realize how much planning can go into dental care when insurance limitations are involved, especially when benefits also need to cover things like exams, fillings, and cleanings.

Many patients are surprised when swelling peaks on days 2 and 3 instead of immediately after surgery, but this is completely normal.

After oral surgery, your immune system sends fluid and healing cells to the area. These cells reach their highest levels around 48 to 72 hours, which is why swelling often looks and feels its worst on day 3.

This isn't a setback it's your body doing exactly what it's supposed to do. 💙
