OASIS Pediatric Therapy empowers children with delays/disabilities and their families to THRIVE, by providing exceptional in-home physical, occupational and speech therapy to the underserved in Colorado. OASIS Pediatric Therapy empowers children with delays/disabilities and their families to maximize independence and life satisfaction, by providing progressive in home physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as resources and respite for the underserved in Colorado. Our goal is to be the very best at what we do, not the biggest. We are founded and run by two of Northern Colorado's best and most established therapists, with over 40 years of combined experience, as well as working mothers. They are intimately acquainted with the experience and struggles of both parents of children with delays/disabilities and of clinicians. We strongly believe that the foundation of great service begins with the genuine care, support, and respect of our service providers. Therefor we encourage every therapist in their endeavors for well being and maintaining a healthy work life balance. Some people lead by giving direction, others lead by making the people around them feel seen, supported and capable of doing their best work. 💙

For Boss’s Day, we asked members of the OASIS teams to share what they appreciate about Kristin and Lacy as leaders.

Their answers highlighted two words again and again: intentional and servant leadership.

They talked about leaders who notice the little things, recognize people’s strengths, lead by example and genuinely care about the people behind the work.

We’re sharing a few of their words because sometimes the best way to celebrate someone is to let the people they lead do the talking.

When your child comes to you upset, your first instinct might be to fix the problem.

But sometimes, what they need most isn't a solution. They need to know they've been heard.

Try reflecting what you hear. Instead of: "Don't worry. You'll do better next time." Try: "That sounds like it was really hard."

Active listening helps children feel heard and understood while giving them space to process their emotions and develop their own problem-solving skills.

It's a small shift that can create a big opportunity for connection.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and celebrate the many abilities of our loved ones with Down syndrome. 💙💛

At OASIS, we believe every child deserves opportunities to participate, connect, grow and thrive in ways that are meaningful to them.

This month, we’re celebrating children with Down syndrome, their families and the communities that support them. We’re also reminded that inclusion is more than awareness. It’s creating spaces where every child feels welcomed, valued and encouraged to be exactly who they are.

The goal isn't to turn your whole day into therapy. It's about noticing the little opportunities that are already there and making space for your child to practice skills in ways that feel natural.
