Day 529: Audrey has had a busy weekend, spent out in Western Oklahoma. Rodeo on Friday and Saturday. She did really well considering the heat and all the activity. May give her an extra day to recoup.
Thank you all for the prayers. We were all very busy so I didn’t get many pics.

Audrey got to see and be around lots of friends and we are so thankful for each and everyone that showed up to support her and worked so hard over the two days!!!

"9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow…”

Day 526: Busy day for this girl! She wasn’t in her best form today but she still gave it what she could.

James 1:12: “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."

Got her up in the rise n walk for a bit at and then on to the bike. ( it is her happy place and after a bumpy start she finished up like the rockstar she is!

After her workout it was running errands at Sam’s and she was ready to go home.

Please keep her close in your prayers as she will be traveling to Clinton for the weekend for her 2nd Annual Benefit Rodeo.

Day 525: Today just a typical day at home for Audrey and shower day. However you know our girl doesn’t do anything in moderation. She pushes so hard!! She got on a kick today opening and closing her mouth, struggling to move her tongue and swallowing. It completely wore her out . We did lots of face, jaw and neck massaging just to assist her in staying relaxed as well as centering her with figure eights.

It is hard for us to completely understand the strain and energy it takes to do the simplest of things. So for informational purposes please read the following.

FYI: Regaining mouth and tongue movement—critical for swallowing (dysphagia) and speech—is incredibly metabolically demanding. Studies find that the brain uses 20% of the body's resting energy and up to 160% more overall if healing. Physical tasks require vastly higher cognitive and neurological effort than in uninjured individuals.

The "Coping Hypothesis": Because the brain directs all muscular movements, injured brains must work much harder than uninjured brains to perform the exact same physical task.

Neuroplasticity: Healing does not mean the brain replaces lost function; it physically reinvents and rewires itself. This intensive rewiring requires consistent repetition and uses massive amounts of cellular and metabolic energy.

Please pray Audrey has a restful and recharging nights sleep, tomorrow is 34 Project day!

Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest".

Day 524: Audrey at today and Salina reported that she had a really good workout. She did her grounding to get her started off and then did 25 minutes on the rise n walk and since she seemed to be full of energy and enthusiasm she got to do quiet a bit of time on the bike with weights and resistance bands on her wrist to help keep her arms stretched out some.

She spent the rest of the afternoon in Okc with Salina running errands and she faired really well and didn’t seem overstimulated with such intensive workout today. She continues to amaze us all! And we are ever thankful and grateful to the Lord for all the wondrous work HE is doing in Audrey. When the medical profession never seemed to give us hope in her recovery the Lord gave us the hope we needed and continues to show us who the Great Physician is and He keeps directing us on her behalf to all the people and resources needed in her road to recovery!!

Jeremiah 30:17a

For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD;

This journey is not Audrey’s alone and we welcome anyone who wants to join us in this journey and join us in praying for:

1. continual healing of Brain
2. Being able to find her voice
3. Movement in arms, hands and legs
4. progress in her swallowing
5. pray for her muscle memory and contracted muscles to free up.
6.Strength and control in her ankles, so she can bear weight.
7. Lessening of muscle spasms

We are continually thankful for all those who have so faithfully followed her progress and constantly pray for her.

Day 522: Sunday—- rest day!!! Audrey just chilled most of the day watching movies. She rarely ever sleeps all day on sundays now, but she’s given the day to just relax. But you know our girl, she’s always wants to work. She has gained a lot of upper body strength so much that she can sit herself up from a lying position. We have to assist a bit by making sure her legs are positioned correctly and then she can just raise herself up.

This afternoon she still just chilled in the recliner but we did get some, figure eights in as well as some stretching on her arms and legs.

She ate a fair amount of ice chips and indulged in a bit of chocolate ice cream. She continues to make progress on her swallowing and continues to make some sounds!

Philippians 4:6

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Please be praying for:

Day 521: Just a family day! Audrey seemed to enjoy being around family. She got to hold baby Emmett, watch the other littles play and swim, and just hang out with everyone.

Every day Audrey makes progress in regaining some normalcy ( or a new normalcy). She’s such a trooper and takes everything in stride. We are so thankful everyday for the gift of each day and what it brings.

May the God who gives endurance and
encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. Roman’s 15:5

Please keep praying for:

1. continual healing of Brain
2. Being able to find her voice
3. Movement in arms and legs
4. progress in her swallowing
5. pray for her muscle memory and contracted muscles to free up
6. Continued good sleep
7. Lessening of muscle spasms

Day 519: another great day at ! Started out her session with Pam doing the grounding technique on her.

FYI: Grounding techniques for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients help manage overstimulation, reduce anxiety, and anchor them in the present.

Body awareness: Bring your focus to the here-and-now by doing simple physical actions.

This technique really works extremely well with Audrey. Today she was very relaxed during her session on the rise n walk. She keep her head up the majority of time and was looking out around the gym taking it all in.

She’s becoming more accustomed to the rise n walk. Afterwards Pam and Salina moved Audrey to the stander which has graciously made available for Audrey to use at home, so we can work on her standing ability and get her use to bearing weight.

We are so thankful and grateful to the Lord for blessing Audrey in all that HE has provided.

2 Corinthians 9:8: "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

1. continual healing of Brain
2. Being able to find her voice
3. Movement in arms, hands and legs
4. progress in her swallowing
5. pray for her muscle memory and contracted muscles to free up.
6.Strength and control in her ankles.

Day 517: Tuesdays and Thursdays are definitely Audrey’s favorite days. The 34 Project has become her community and she’s all smiles going to “her gym”.
She loves seeing and being around her people. She has this little ritual with Jeremy and it’s so cute to watch how they greet each other.

She looks forward to working with Pam, her therapist and today you could really see all over her face how she trust her ( or maybe it’s adoration) You can see it in the first picture! We are so thankful for Pam’s dedication and her desire to keep learning for benefit of her “athletes”.

We are ever grateful that the Lord guided us to The 34 Project and the remarkable difference it’s made in Audrey’s journey.

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Please keep your prayers going!

Day 516: We may not always be able to see everything God is doing in our lives. We may not fully understand His ways or timing, but we can be confident of this: He is at work.

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Daily we witness small things that are happening in Audrey’s journey and collectively those small steps will eventually culminate into HUGE wins in her recovery.

Few things she’s working on and being able to do:
1. Lifting her arm and hand to wipe her mouth, to use oral swab, to touch her nose, hold a spoon to lift to her mouth etc
2. Raising her hips to help get her pants on
3. Pushing her foot into her shoes
4. Leaning forward in her shower chair so we can wash her back.
5. Keeping her feet on the vibration plate

Just to mention a few!

Today was shower day and some self care, but we manage to get in at least 20 minutes on vibration plate, worked on some arm stretches and spent a lil time outside soaking up some rays!

Pray for:

1. continual healing of Brain
2. Being able to find her voice
3. Movement in arms, hands and legs
4. progress in her swallowing
5. pray for her muscle memory and contracted muscles to free up.
6.Strength and control in her ankles.
7. Lessening of muscle spasms.
