Lasting progress doesn’t come from chasing symptoms. It comes from understanding WHY they’re happening in the first place.

When I work with my clients, my goal isn’t simply to help them have a bowel movement.

In fact, you can have a daily bowel movement and still have a digestive system that’s backed up.

That’s because having a bowel movement doesn’t necessarily mean your gut’s natural housekeeping system is working the way it should.

Instead, we focus on understanding why the gut has slowed down in the first place. Once we begin to uncover what’s happening, we can build a plan that supports the body’s own ability to keep things moving naturally, instead of constantly trying to force it.

That’s a very different approach. And in my experience, it’s where lasting change begins.

As always, every person is different. Persistent digestive symptoms deserve an individual evaluation to better understand what may be contributing to them.

There was a hot moment about 2 months ago when I realized something had to give.

I was burning the candle at both ends.

What made me stop and take inventory wasn’t my schedule - it was my body.

I noticed symptoms I hadn’t experienced in a long time starting to creep back in. Sleep became more difficult. My knees started hurting. Migraines became more frequent. The puffiness in my face and fingers returned.

Maybe you’ve been there too. You’re showing up for everyone… family, work, friends. But somewhere along the way, you slowly feel yourself disappearing. You just don’t feel like yourself.

But as a Functional Health Practitioner I know that our symptoms are messengers to slow the h*ll down.

So I listened.

What I thought would be a one-week break from social media turned into 2 months. I didn’t stop doing the things that light me up.

Behind the scenes, I became certified in area to offer even more to my clients, continued working 1:1 with my amazing clients, and I let my awareness guide everything else.

Instead of asking, “What else do I need to get done?” I started asking, “What does my body need today?” It was about giving myself the permission just to BE.

I feel I’m returning as a better version of myself. So I’m back, but with a different purpose.

Not to make sure I post everyday or chase the algorithm.

I’m here to share simple habits that can make a big impact, practical examples of how my clients are making progress, and insights into how functional testing can help uncover the patterns that may be contributing to your bloating, fatigue, poor sleep, skin issues and hormone imbalances.

If even one post inspires you to take one step toward feeling better, then showing up here is worth it.

And finally…
Thank you to my little corner of followers who stayed with me during the silence. Your support means more than you know.
If you are new here and this message resonates with you, I’d love to have you follow along. I’m grateful you’re here.

I encourage all of my clients to take inventory without judgement, just awareness.

So, I’ll ask you the same question…
What area of your life has been feeling heavy lately?

Can you relate?

Navigating menopause can be so darn hard.
I get it.

But having a functional health practitioner in your corner -
someone who listens, looks deeper, connects the dots, and helps you understand WHY you feel the way you do and what your body needs to feel supported again -
makes all the difference. 💛

Many women assume their symptoms are simply hormone-related because of the stage they’re in.

But hormones don’t operate in isolation.
They respond to what’s happening in the system.

What I do see:
•Blood sugar instability
•Poor detox capacity
•Gut-driven hormone disruption
•Chronic stress + cortisol dysregulation

Menopause doesn’t create these issues.
It often exposes them.

When those system are over-whelmed, hormones struggle to regulate. It becomes a loop of dysfunction.

That’s why guessing, supplement hopping, and random TikTok protocols aren’t working.

Before things normalize, we have to remove the blockers and support the foundations.

And in my opinion, too many women are quietly struggling with this.

What has felt the most confusing about your symptoms lately?

Most of my clients don’t come to me “new” to gut work.

They’ve already seen multiple practitioners.
They’ve completed multiple gut protocols.
They’ve done the antimicrobials. The binders. The probiotics.

And yet…
They’re still bloated.
Still constipated.
Still exhausted.

Why?

Because an often upstream phase was never addressed before jumping into the “kill” phase.

That phase: mouth & the sinuses

Your sinuses drain into your throat 24/7. Whatever is living there is swallowed constantly.

That means bacteria, fungal overgrowth, and biofilm from the sinuses can constantly reseed the: stomach - small intestine - colon.

So you “clear” the gut, but the source keeps dripping back in.

This is why:
•Candida keeps coming back
•H.pylori survives treatment
•Symptoms continue to relapse

It becomes a hidden, inflammatory loop.

If you don’t address what’s upstream, you’ll keep chancing symptoms downstream.

Addressing gut issues in the correct order matters.

So if your gut protocols keep failing and you’re
Still bloated
Still constipated
Still exhausted
It may be time to look upstream.

Your gut is a little dramatic… but it’s not lying.🤥

When your body is inflamed, out of balance, and overwhelmed, it sends signals like:

💥Bloating - looking 6 months pregnant by dinner
💥Constipation - going every few days, pellets, and calling it “normal”
💥Diarrhea - no explanation needed
💥Gas - embarrassing, silent killers, and always at the worse time
💥Bad breath - no matter how much you brush or gargle
💥Sugar cravings - especially after meals or at night
💥Brain fog - rereading the same email three times
💥Skin flare-ups - adult acne, rashes, or itchy patches that won’t go away
💥Low energy - exhausted but wired feeling
💥Stubborn belly weight - even when you’re doing everything right”

These aren’t random.
They’re your body waving a little white flag asking for support - not punishment.

And yep… this is why the gut always comes first. 💛

Truths of 2026 more women need to know:
• If you only 💩 after coffee.. you’re still
constipated
• Burping + reflux usually means low stomach acid - not too much
• Hormone issues are rarely just hormones - your gut + liver matter
• Your skin (acne, eczema, psoriasis), is one of the loudest messengers of your gut
• Food “intolerances” aren’t a food problem - they’re a leaky gut problem
• Waking up tired isn’t a normal part of aging
• A “normal” blood sugar doesn’t always mean your metabolism is okay

These aren’t tending health takes.
They’re patterns seen over in women struggling with belly bloat, fatigue, stubborn belly weight, fatigue, reflux, skin issues, and hormone chaos - especiallv in midlife.

Menopause doesn’t make your body break.
It removes the hormonal ‘cushion’ that was keeping old imbalances quiet. So now the gut, liver, blood sugar, and stress patterns you’ve
been compensating for finally show themselves.

If gut healing and hormone balance is your thing, hit follow for free education to help you understand what your body is asking for.

And comment 🧪TEST if this is the year you stop tolerating “normal” symptoms and start listening
to your body.

And listen… I’m not anti-protein.
As women (especially in midlife), protein is essential for strength, muscle, bone health, blood sugar balance, and metabolic support.

But here’s the part no one is really talking about…If your gut is compromised- low stomach acid, poor digestion, inflammation, imbalance gut bacteria - your body may not even be properly breaking it down and absorbing those nutrients.

So you can be eating the most “perfect” diet…
hitting your protein goals…
tracking every macro…
and still feel bloated, tired, inflamed, or “off.”

I see this with almost all of my clients who are already doing so many things right - eating well, exercising, supplementing- yet their bodies weren’t responding.

This issue wasn’t that they needed to try harder.
It was that their internal environment wasn’t supported.

It isn’t about chasing more.
It’s about creating the conditions where your body can actually receive what you’re giving it.

When digestion works, absorption improves.
When the gut is supported, everything else starts to respond - hormones, energy, weight, inflammation, even mood.

Gut health isn’t a trend. It’s the foundation.
