🚑 Interested in Becoming an EMT? 🚑

Do you want a career where every shift matters? Where you can make a difference in your community and help your friends and neighbors? EMS is more than lights and sirens — it’s teamwork, problem-solving, and making a difference when people need help the most. We are accepting a limited number of interested persons for an upcoming Basic EMT Course!

This course is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide compassionate medical care and begin a career in EMS.

If you’re looking to make a difference in your community, challenge yourself in a meaningful way, be a part of something bigger, and make an impact when it matters the most, this class may be for you.

📍 Location: Classes will be held at the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad Inc. building, 600 W Church Street

📅 Tentative Start Date: June 6th, 2026

⏰ Schedule: Every Saturday (except July 4th), 09:00-17:00

Collaboration and communication with our community partners is a critical part of what we do every single day.

Even though Prom Promise is a real-world simulation for high school students to see firsthand the dangers of distracted and drunk driving, it also gives us the opportunity to coordinate with Greene County 911 - Tennessee, Greeneville Fire Department, Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad Inc., Greene County TN Sheriff's Department, Greeneville/Greene County, TN Office of Emergency Management & HLS, Greene County Anti-Drug Coalition, Highlands Emergency Air Rescue & Transport, Ballad Health, Emergency Chaplains TN , Greene County School System, Greeneville City Schools, Casper's Body Shop & Wrecker Service LLC, and other community partners, strengthening our relationships.

We were blessed to be able to spend some time together last week reflecting on the season and what has been an emotional year.

We wanted to thank Broyles General Store & Garden Emporium, Highlands Emergency Air Rescue & Transport, Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation, Life Care Center of Greeneville, Greeneville Collection Service, and our EMS Board for their support of our holiday breakfasts, and our community for their continued support.

Please join us in congratulating Scott Sayer (front row, left) on obtaining his Critical Care Paramedic licensure after completing a course sponsored by Ballad Health. This is the highest level of training currently available for a ground-based EMS provider.

We strive to provide the highest levels of care possible for the citizens and visitors of our county, and look forward to sending more students to this course in the future.

Please keep our friends and neighbors at Washington County / Johnson City EMS in your hearts as they mourn the loss of Fred Kemp. Freddy’s 28 year career as a first responder and instructor has positively changed thousands of lives, and will continue to do so for many years as his legacy lives on.

Many of our employees have worked with and learned from Freddy over the years. He will be missed greatly.
