Both hospice and palliative care focus on comfort, quality of life and support, helping patients receive care that aligns with their goals and wishes. Palliative care can begin at diagnosis and alongside treatment. At Amedisys, we developed Code Green to ensure no patient transitions alone in their final days. This protocol activates an increased rotation of visits from our hospice team of nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains to address all the needs of the patient as they near end of life.
