Seeking 2026 People’s Medicine Project Homestead Intern!
Seeking an intern for 2026 growing season, ready to dive into medicinal plants and homestead care. People’s Medicine Project is a health justice organization focusing on access to holistic health care. We run free clinics throughout Western MA, and we integrate herbal medicine into all our offerings.
The internship runs mid April mid-October, with some flexibility on either end, as well as flexibility for summer vacation travel. We require 15-20 hours of homestead work per week. That work could include: greenhouse work, wild herb harvesting, planting, weeding, tending, mulching of herbs, pollinator plants, and vegetables. Also, includes harvesting cultivated medicinal plants, dehydrator tending, apothecary special projects, making herbal preparations, packing for clinics, and attending PMP’s annual plant sale and possibly, seasonal clinics.
In exchange for your contribution, we offer you: yurt living (yurt is uninsulated but has a wood stove). Separate kitchen area with access to power and water. Access to food and herbs grown on the homestead. Swimming hole a plus. PMP herbalists are available to support you in your learning goals with readings, exercises, and special projects. If you seek to get credit or to be paid for the internship from your college, we will do all the required paperwork.
If you are interested in applying, send a cover letter and resume to Leslie Chaison by February 25: [email protected]. Please include availability, needs for time off, whether you will be trying to get credit, and any potential goals you have for the experience. I will get back to you by March for next steps.
