🫦Someone had to say it: mindset ain’t doing jack!

Especially for us first-gens and daughters of immigrants. Because some of what’s keeping you small isn’t a thought you can simply “reframe.”

It’s a survival strategy passed down from years and years of survival. Our bodies carry the imprints of colonization, assimilation, and everything our ancestors had to do to survive.

But we get to be THAT cycle breaker, amiga!

The work is learning to unlearn what kept us safe then—but keeps us stuck now.

I cried like a baby 😭😭😭

As an immigrant kid, you grow up watching your parents work so dang hard to survive.

It’s inevitable we pick up their trauma, survival mechanisms and beliefs.

But what if I told you..
When you choose to heal it has a ripple effect on to your dad, your tias, your kids.

I never thought I would be having these types of conversations with my dad (he’s a tough client 😹😹) but here I am, celebrating this small win.

Ya girl knows a thing or two about overthinking, overanylzying & hiding away because it just doesn’t “feel right” yet.

Shifts started to really take root when I understood this was an ancestral wound I carried from the many women in my lineage that had to shape shift for their safety.

It’s not a flaw. It’s not a shameful thing to fix. 🔥It was smart protective layer that we get to heal.
🔥It’s a pattern we break through ancient memory that lives in our bodies.

Hands in the dirt, imperfect AF, through many many dark nights of the soul & somatics with my ancestors I started to unfurl🌺.
