You didn't start here.

Many people struggling with hip pain, endometriosis, hypermobility, or pelvic health issues were once highly active. They were athletes, dancers, runners, fitness enthusiasts, or simply people who loved moving their bodies. Then something changed.

Too often, they're told, "This is all we can do."

But when pelvic health, orthopedics, sports medicine, and whole-body health aren't evaluated together, important pieces of the puzzle can be missed.

If you've stopped feeling like yourself and haven't found the answers you're looking for, don't give up. There may be more options than you've been led to believe. ❤️‍🩹

Too many people carry shame around se*ual health concerns. They wonder if what they're experiencing is normal, if they should just live with it, or if it's even worth bringing up…

In my conversation with Dr. Elisabeth Gordon, we discuss why se*ual health deserves the same attention as any other aspect of health and why speaking up about your concerns matters.

If something feels off, ask the question. Start the conversation. You deserve to be heard, and you deserve care that takes your concerns seriously.

S*xual health isn't separate from the rest of your health. It’s deeply connected! 📢

In this week's podcast, I sat down with psychiatrist and certified s*x therapist Dr. Elisabeth Gordon to talk about the intersection of s*xual health, mental health, nervous system regulation, relationships, and whole-person care.

One of my favorite takeaways? "Whatever affects the physical affects the sexual. Whatever affects the mental affects the sexual."

Recovering from surgery is a marathon, not a sprint.

Whether you have endometriosis, hypermobilty, hip dysplasia, or all of the above, your day to day life is impacted, and you can’t always predict a flare.

However, there’s lots that can and should be done to help you minimize them, and the stress that life disruption that comes with it.

Here’s how I help my patients manage:

✅MSKUS - I use ultrasound imaging for precision prescription during rehab. No guessing which muscles or patterns are off, or if there is fascial restriction or inhibition, or if there is organ prolapse.

✅Lifestyle Medicine - I leave no stone unturned when it comes to helping you manage sleep, stress, physical activity and fitness planning, environmental endocrine/hormone disruptors, and nutrition.

✅Integrative Medicine - yoga is my main modality to improve vagus nerve function, stress and resilience, recovery, and athletic performance.

✅Functional Medicine - identifying root cause is key, inclining inflammation and hormone optimization. I work with a team approach to make sure all body systems are cared for.

✅Orthopedic and Pelvic PT - IMHO you need to be an expert at both, not just 1, in order to manage complex diagnoses like

All of these things together help me manage patients well, and my own health challenges.

Have you ever worried about what people might think if you're late, make a mistake, or don't do something perfectly? You may be living with what Dr. Tom Murray calls an "invisible audience." 🤔

In this episode of The Vocal Pelvic Floor, Tom explores how the rules we create for ourselves can quietly shape our relationships, reactions, and stress levels. One of the most powerful takeaways:
"Frustration is evidence of a rule that we're afraid is going to be broken."

Sometimes the question isn't, "Am I right?" It's, "Is this helping me create the relationships I want?"

Do you avoid awkwardness at all costs? 👀

According to s*x and relationship therapist Dr. Tom Murray, that might be keeping you stuck…Many of us learn to stay within the lines - to avoid mistakes, uncertainty, or anything that feels uncomfortable. But intimacy, growth, and connection often require us to do things we've never done before.

As Tom says, "A lot of over-controlled people have an allergy to awkwardness."

So what if awkwardness isn't something to avoid... but a sign that you're learning, growing, and stepping into something new? ✨

What if the very traits that help you succeed in life are the same traits getting in the way of intimacy?

This week, I sit down with Dr. Tom Murray, s*x and relationship therapist and author of Making Nice with Naughty, to explore perfectionism, over-control, s*xual shame, and why "doing everything right" can sometimes make connection, pleasure, and vulnerability feel harder.

Together, we discuss the surprising ways our nervous system, childhood experiences, and personality patterns can shape intimacy - and how learning to embrace flexibility, playfulness, and even a little awkwardness can help us build deeper relationships.

Can you use red light therapy too much? 🤔

It's one of the most common questions I hear and the answer might surprise you.

Liz Frey and Dr. Genevieve Newton explain why more isn't always better. Researchers often describe the body's response to light therapy as a "Goldilocks effect": too little may not do much, too much may not provide additional benefit, and somewhere in the middle is the sweet spot where you see the greatest response.

It's an important reminder that healing isn't always about doing more. Sometimes it's about understanding how the body responds and using the right dose, at the right time, in the right way.

If you've ever wondered how often you should use red light therapy (or whether more sessions mean better results) this conversation is for you. 📢"Red light therapy isn't a replacement for rehab - it's a tool that can support it."

Pelvic health physiotherapist Liz Frey explains why she uses red light therapy as an adjunct to care, helping women stay engaged in their recovery and support progress between sessions.

One of my favorite takeaways? Light therapy can give women a tool to feel empowered and actively involved in their healing. Whether you're navigating pelvic pain, postpartum recovery, menopause, or a chronic condition, having the right support can make a meaningful difference.

As I often say, healing isn't about giving your power away..it's about helping you reclaim it! ❤️‍🩹

Could red light therapy help with more than just pelvic health?

This week, Dr. Genevieve Newton discusses some of the emerging applications of red light therapy during perimenopause and menopause. From skin health and cognition to mood, stress, sleep, hair loss, and pelvic health, researchers are continuing to investigate how light may influence the body's healing and recovery processes.

While more research is still needed, especially in women's health, the possibilities are exciting and are long overdue! If you've been wondering why red light therapy is getting so much attention lately, this episode is a great place to start.
