Tonight’s class was D E L I C I O U S. 💛

Here’s a peek at our final 15 minutes of class in these supported, grounding postures.

1. Supported Child’s Pose
Use two blankets and a bolster (or cushion) to create a soft place to rest your torso. Place a sandbag gently across your low back.

2. Legs Up the Wall
Come onto your back with your legs supported by the wall. Place a sandbag across your heels.

3. Supported Savasana
Set yourself up with a bolster under the knees, blankets for warmth and support under the head, and an eye pillow to invite your attention inward.

Try these at home or come join us in class. 💛

✨ A fresh newsletter just dropped in your inbox! ✨

And this one is all about SUPPORT. 💛

We talk so much about how our yoga props support us—a block, a bolster, a wall, a blanket—but there’s another kind of support that means just as much:

Community.

It has been so sweet watching our community settle into Unite Us Yoga. What could have felt like a big transition has felt surprisingly natural, and I’m so grateful for how beautifully everyone has merged into the space Cathy has created over the years. Cathy Knuth Yonaitis

It truly feels like home. 🥹

And as we head into fall, there are SO many ways to practice together!

✨ Yoga
✨ Somatics
✨ Strength
✨ Mobility
✨ Mindful movement
✨ Conditioning
✨ Rest & connection

There are drop-in classes, class pass packs to bundle & save, and an unlimited membership if you want to make movement a regular part of your week.

And while Cathy is away leading her wonderful yoga retreats throughout September, we have some amazing teachers stepping in!

💛 Adrienne Cole Adrienne Cole
💛 Cheryl Andres
…and yours truly, Nichol.

I hope you’ll take this opportunity to explore a class or teacher you haven’t tried before. There is something really special about experiencing different teachers and different ways of moving.

I’ve also updated my website with the new links, so you can find my Wednesday and Sunday classes AND the full Unite Us Yoga schedule all in one place.

✨ So many ways to move, breathe, explore, and practice.

And if you’re not receiving my newsletters, send me your email address and I’ll make sure you’re added to the list! 📬

I’m so grateful for this community and so excited for everything we get to explore together this fall. 🌿

Come practice with us! 💛

✨ A little update from me! ✨

Our first week at Unite Us Yoga was such a beautiful one, and I’m so excited about what this next chapter holds for our community. 💛

I just sent out an email with some important updates about our new home base at Unite Us Yoga, September registration, class packs, memberships, and all the new ways we’ll have to practice together.

If you’re part of our yoga community, check your inbox! 📬

And if you haven’t been receiving my emails, send me a message and I’ll make sure you’re on the list.

So much gratitude for all of you who continue to show up, grow, change, and practice alongside me. I’m really excited for what’s ahead. 🌿

Here’s to new chapters, new possibilities, and a beautiful place to call home. 💛

🌿Wednesday Meditation | 6:00 PM

This week, we will gently explore low back relief and the practice of resting awareness.

We’ll begin with subtle, supportive movement to ease tension in the low back before settling into meditation. Rather than focusing on the breath or a visualization, this practice invites the mind to truly rest. Thoughts may arise—as they naturally do—but instead of pulling us away, we’ll practice allowing them to drift by, returning again and again to simple awareness.

This is an opportunity to soften, listen deeply, and discover what it feels like to rest without needing to fix, control, or strive.

Whether you’re carrying physical tension, mental fatigue, or simply longing for a quiet pause in your week, you’re warmly welcome.

✨Join us Sundays & Wednesdays

As you celebrate this Fourth of July weekend, my hope is that you find a little freedom, not by trying to escape your life, but by being fully present for it.

One breath.
One moment.
One day at a time.

Two chances to practice each week

As summer continues, and these temperatures keep rising, our Wednesday evening outdoor class is moving indoors.

You can now join us at Temple Emanuel TWICE per week🎉

Sundays at 10:00 AM – Slow Flow

Wednesdays at 6:00 PM – Deep stretch and meditation

Whether you’re brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years, you’ll find a welcoming community waiting for you.

Visit our website to register.

The hardest part is showing up.

I’ll meet you there.

With love,

Nichol

Dear Ahava Collective Community,

I haven’t written in a little while, and recently I found myself reflecting on something that shifted the way I think about self-care and what it really means to show up for ourselves.

For a long time, I thought I knew what self-love and self-care looked like.

I thought it meant doing the right things. Resting enough. Moving enough. Meditating enough. Eating well. Protecting my peace.

But recently, it dawned on me that maybe self-care is something different entirely.

Maybe self-care is actually the process in which we get to know ourselves.

Take a moment with that.

Self-care is the process in which we get to know ourselves.

And what that looks like is always changing in relation to who we are and where we are each and every new day.

Some days care looks like movement. Some days it looks like rest. Some days it looks like saying yes. Some days it looks like saying no.

To keep showing up and checking in regularly is to know and care for ourselves.

And maybe that’s how we really learn to love.

Not by getting it right. Not by becoming some perfected version of ourselves.

But by staying curious enough to keep meeting ourselves where we are.

This Sunday at 10:00 AM, I’d love to invite you to join me for practice.

No need to be flexible. No need to be in the right mood. No need to feel ready.

Just come as you are.

The hardest part is showing up.

I’ll meet you there.

With love,

Nichol

Dear Community,

After some thoughtful reflection and intention, we’ve decided to slow things down for the month of May. This pause will give us the space to explore some transitions as we look ahead to summer and beyond.

Our final classes for April will be:

Wednesday 6pm with Nichol (tonight)
Saturday 9am with Adrienne
Sunday 10am with Nichol
Tuesday 6pm with Adrienne

While we’ll miss gathering with you in the studio, this feels like a meaningful opportunity to take a collective breath—creating space for clarity, creativity, and alignment in what comes next.

While this may feel sudden, sometimes life brings us unexpected opportunities to practice patience, trust, and non-attachment. I’ve been reflecting a lot on Rumi’s poem The Guest House, and its reminder that every experience—especially the ones we don’t anticipate—arrives with something to teach us if we are willing to stay open.

The act of a gentle pause is powerful. The heart of this community remains strong, and we are deeply grateful for each of you who continue to show up with openness, trust, and presence.

Thank you for being part of this space. We’re looking forward to sharing what comes next and returning with renewed energy and intention for the summer season.

With love and gratitude,
Nichol & Adrienne

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
