We here, too, at NC AgrAbility are so sorry to learn of Dale's passing. He was generous of spirit and committed to the mental health of our nation's farmers. We will never forget the coin he pressed into our hands as a memento of his willingness to listen if a farmer or veteran was in distress. RIP, Dale. You are missed.
The North Carolina Agromedicine Institute mourns the loss of community partner, Dale Dobson.
“Dale was a warm handshake and the words, ‘I appreciate you,’” shared Institute Director, Dr. Alyssa Spence. “He had a remarkable ability to inspire others to care about agricultural health and safety and to bring people together around a common purpose. He was a mentor, a friend to our team, and a respected leader. He will be deeply missed, and his influence will continue to be felt through the countless individuals and organizations he inspired.”
Dobson was the Farm and Home Safety Program Coordinator for Kentucky Department of Agriculture. His impact reached far beyond his home state.
We offer our deepest condolences to Dale’s family, the Raising Hope KY team, other colleagues, friends, and the entire agricultural safety and health community. Dale’s dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to improving the health and safety of farmers, farmworkers, and rural communities have left a lasting legacy.
