The Missouri WIC program provides supplemental food, health care referrals, nutrition education, and breastfeeding promotion and support to eligible pregnant women, new mothers, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five (5). Fathers, grandparents, guardians, and foster parents may also apply for benefits for the children living in their household. Birth and death certificates:

Certified copied of Missouri birth certificates from 1920 to present are available at a cost of $15.00 per copy. Forms may be obtained at The Wayne County Health Center. Death records from 1980. Birth Certified $15 per record

A recall has been issued for Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend 10 oz due to potential contamination with E. coli O145.
Please check your freezer for the following product:
Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend – 10 oz
• UPC: 7874211226
• Lot Code: 6040 01-6
• Best If Used By: February 9, 2028
⚠️ DO NOT CONSUME the affected product. If you have the recalled product, discard it or return it to Walmart for a full refund.
The recalled product was distributed to select Walmart stores in multiple states, including Missouri. There have been no illnesses associated with this specific product to date.
E. coli O145 can cause severe stomach cramps, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and vomiting. In some cases, infection can lead to a serious complication known as hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS).

Our office will stay open until 6 p.m. tomorrow, August 20, 2026. We will be setup at our office for all Kindergarten shots. We will also be setup at the Back to School Fair to offer Jr. High and High School vaccines. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call at (573)224-3218 or stop by our table tomorrow from 3p.m.-6 p.m.

If you are expecting to need vaccines for the upcoming school year, please bring an up-to-date vaccine record with you to the event.

🚨 FOOD RECALL ALERT 🚨

Select Whole Foods Market salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and prepared foods containing jalapeños have been recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The affected products were sold in several states, including Missouri, with Best Before/Best By dates ranging from 8/7/26–8/16/26. Although Wayne County does not have a Whole Foods Market location, we are sharing this information for public awareness.

⚠️ Do not consume recalled products. Please discard them or return them to Whole Foods Market.
