As parents, we all do our best to keep our children safeโ€”and that includes making sure medications are stored securely.
We've seen a recent increase in medication-related incidents across Eastern North Carolina, so we wanted to share a gentle reminder:

Even older children and teens should never take medication that wasn't prescribed specifically for them. A few extra moments of caution can help prevent a medical emergency. If you have questions about your child's medications, we're always here to help. Please give us a call at 252-561-7777!

Button batteries may be small, but if swallowed or placed in the nose or ear, they can cause serious internal burns and life-threatening injuries in just hours. These batteries are commonly found in remotes, toys, watches, hearing aids, flashing shoes, and other everyday electronics.
