Your Carolina Move It Monday: Squat Smarter 🏋️‍♀️

Keep an eye out for this week’s Move It Monday segment! I demonstrate 5 different squat variations and explain why there’s more than one “right” way to squat.

The takeaway: The goal isn’t to find the hardest version of an exercise. It’s to find the version that gives your body the right challenge for where you are today.

First time using these ButterCups on my own legs!

After trading massage with another trained professional, I had her put them on me at the end of my session and then leave me be. 😌

And let me tell you… they are EFFECTIVE for decompressing.

The only problem? I’m now lying here completely relaxed, staring at the ceiling, getting hungry… and apparently distracting myself by writing this post. 😂

Even the wellness professionals need someone else to work on them sometimes!

Topic of day at studio…Men - listen up 📢Can you squeeze one butt cheek at a time — right, then left, like a blinker? No both at once.

Can’t? That’s dead butt syndrome. Sitting all day teaches your brain to shut the glutes off. Here’s how to wake it back up:

🍑 Pelvic tilt + bridge test — flatten your back on the floor, bridge up. Two legs, then one. Feel it in your hamstrings instead? Confirmed — dead glutes.

🍑 Bench heel pushes — foot elevated, drive through the heel and bridge up.

🍑 Downward dog leg kicks — kick one leg up, pulse at the top.

🍑 Side plank clamshells — not everyone’s favorite, but it exposes side-to-side weakness fast. do this with a band just above the knees.

Test it. Feel it. Then train it. Your glutes aren’t gone — just asleep.
